About my style
I write to create an emotion
and deliver the message
I am always looking for the
rhythm and cadence of the poem
as well as the sound of the words as spoken.
Most of what I write is rhymeless.
I often wish I could spell...lol
I write about love because I am very driven
by the emotions love solicits.
From time to time, I write on other subjects.
I am currently working on a secound book
"A Poetic Journey to Internial Peace"
A self help book
Best wishes in ALL your Endeavors
I have a real brother on here, Dr.Bob
second oldest of ten
Read his words, he is very perfound
I also have a real life sister on here, Kathy
she was the little Princess of the boys

She writes well from her heart
Another equally perfound favorite, from my anchent Collage past
An excerpt from Phaedo, by Plato
Socrates:
"And when they consider all this, must not true poets make a reflection, of which they will speak to one another in such words as these: We have found, they will say, a path of speculation which seems to bring us and the argument to the conclusion that while we are in the body, and while the soul is mingled with this mass of evil, our desire will not be satisfied, and our desire is of the truth. For the body is a source of endless trouble to us by reason of the mere requirement of food; and also is liable to diseases which overtake and impede us in the search after truth: and by filling us so full of loves, and lusts, and fears, and fancies, and idols, and every sort of folly, prevents our ever having, as people say, so much as a thought. For whence come wars, and fightings, and factions? whence but from the body and the lusts of the body? For wars are occasioned by the love of money, and money has to be acquired for the sake and in the service of the body; and in consequence of all these things the time which ought to be given to philosophy (or Poetry) is lost. Moreover, if there is time and an inclination toward philosophy/poetry, yet the body introduces a turmoil and confusion and fear into the course of speculation, and hinders us from seeing the truth: and all experience shows that if we would have pure knowledge of anything we must be quit of the body, and the soul in herself must behold all things in themselves: then I suppose that we shall attain that which we desire, and of which we say that we are lovers, and that is wisdom, not while we live, but after death, as the argument shows; for if while in company with the body the soul cannot have pure knowledge, one of two things seems to follow-either knowledge is not to be attained at all, or, if at all, after death. For then, and not till then, the soul will be in herself alone and without the body. In this present life, I reckon that we make the nearest approach to knowledge when we have the least possible concern or interest in the body, and are not saturated with the bodily nature, but remain pure until the hour when God himself is pleased to release us. And then the foolishness of the body will be cleared away and we shall be pure and hold converse with other pure souls, and know of ourselves the clear light everywhere; and this is surely the light of truth. For no impure thing is allowed to approach the pure."
~Plato, (Phaedo)
Think about that for a while... try a lifetime
With Great pleasure and pride.. I take Trista
as my caring AP Bride
We have been friends forever on here.
She has loved me as a friend
when I was sometimes.. almost unlovable.
Through her,
I learned the meaning of unlimited care for a friend.
With her, I have had peace and understanding,
and always a warm heart to guide me on.
For this and more
I love her... as My wonderfull friend.

Here is a favorite poem written for me by my lovely AP Wife Trista
This verse is the first words of poetry in 'Words of Love for Women"
Just For Me
In every woman’s heart
there lives a dream
of one man.
He knows
the magic words
that awaken our souls
to rebuild the dream
we believed was lost
or never existed.
In these words unspoken
left on a pillow, a coffee table,
or a birthday-wrapped box,
we are cherished, revered
for being what we are ~
women, in all forms of
glory, shapes, and minds.
Romance, so often lacking
and seldom taught to boys
drifts across our eyes.
And for that moment
we are lost to
inspired, amorous intentions.
Just as it was
once believed
we were Cinderella or
Snow White
we linger, softly whispering
“This is me...
I am the woman of his night.”
We want to live
where love is made
by candlelight,
where baths are drawn
and soap is spread
slowly down
each limb
by hands and eyes
adoring.
We’re starved to hear
how right we are,
how our eyes reflect
the sun,
or how his thoughts
return to us
like every breath inhaled.
So let me dream
my perfect dream
because I know it lives;
It’s written there for all to see
and it was written just for...
me.
And each night as I turn a page
with no one there to disagree
softly, I will slip into
these satin sheets called
Words of Love for Women.
Trista`s Author notes
Rick...
I really believe one reason women love your poetry is that we truly are starved for romance, and finding a man who will put the needs of a woman first and foremost in his life is rare. Everywhere, too many women are under-appreciated at best, made to feel they are always lacking something, or at worst, are blatantly abused.
Hopefully other women will understand my meaning in this poem - that even though your poetry isn't written "for me", any of us can lose ourselves in your words and feel as if they were. Just knowing men like you exist gives me hope.
You are an amazing man, Rick. I thank you for your friendship and care more than anything, and I wish us both good luck in finding and keeping the loving relationships we deserve. J.
Thank you trista, Rick
If someone wanted to reasearch me,
they would need to go no further than my words.
I do have other dreams
If the dream is big enough, the facts don`t count

-
We begin in life as the faintest movement felt only by you
and we are held as close.. as we may ever be within your womb -
These are the memoriesI hold close, in my dreams at night
A time when love was never ending and forever
-
I want love that trudges thur deep mud
believing paradise, is just a little further
-
I have followed you
dragged myself thru the muck and mud, just to touch you

-
It takes so long to truly find ourselves
so sad we can not go on forever -
I make these words
for those who cry in the night
holding secret sins so far within their soul -
The suns amoung us are like the sand upon the beach
to numerious to be counted... by any man -
Like so many seeds
cast across the field -
I remember you,
my woman... from a thousand glorious dreams
-
In your grace... I am humbled to be a man
