Ten Things About Me As A Writer:
1. I like poetry - reading, writing, just looking at the words.
2. I don't really sleep. Well, I do, especially during the morning, but I basically only think if it's night time.
3. My poetry sounds much better in my head than it does on paper.
4. Three (current) favorite poets: Yehuda Amachai, Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson.
5. I have procrastination issues (so if I tell you I'm going to write something, I might get around to it ... eventually).
6. My poetry is pretty much self absorbed slash dominated by my family matters at the moment. I am fascinated with violence and I do have a temper, but I'm a strong believer in animal rights/responsibilities.
7. I have this really weird thing, where after I watch a movie, I start talking like people in the movie (after watching a preppy, British chick flick, I spoke with a British accent; after watching Pulp Fiction I swore - a lot).
8. I abuse commas.
9. I'm always willing to take prompts slash try new styles of poetry.
10. I work mainly from my iTouch which does affect the quality of the mechanics of my poems, sometimes.
11. I almost never write second drafts or reread any of my work until after I've posted it - if you have a problem with that, too bad.
12. I can't count apparently.
Pieces I'm Currently Trying To Write But On Which I Have Totally Hit A Wall:
Darkroom - a piece I've been trying to write for about a year now about a certain feeling I get when I'm working in the darkroom - I just can't manage to put it into words.
Untitled - a rhyming piece consisting of a conversation between a teen in a psych ward for self injury and her doctor.
Antigone - a piece centered around Chorus's monologue slash introduction in the begining of Antigone, but more about the memories I have wrapped up in this piece of writing.
Pieces I'm Planning On Rewriting ... Eventually
The Youth - I'm pretty unsatisfied with this piece as a whole, but I'm not entirely sure how I could improve it. http://allpoetry.com/poem/5628611
Brooke - I recieved a great review for this and feel as if I should do it (the review) justice by improving this piece. http://allpoetry.com/poem/5499959
Kent - This is a case of I thought out this poem and by the time I got to paper, I could only remember about half. http://allpoetry.com/poem/5481263
Rosary - I had such hopes for this piece, but it came out so wrong. http://allpoetry.com/poem/5414287
One Candle/26 Years - There is so much wrong with this piece, but I really want to write what it was meant to be. http://allpoetry.com/poem/4826607
Just A Guy - Back from the days of my cute little crush. I liked the thought here, but not the execution. http://allpoetry.com/poem/4603781
Best wishes.

It was a hot summer day, the air was sticky and thick, I wanted to be barefoot, but knew I would burn my feet if I stepped onto the pavement. The air conditioning in my car was turned all the way up, but it was still stifling516 lines, 2 comments, March 28. In <600 words

Molly Brown was a mousy, rather nondescript girl who was always quiet in class. She had the smarts - her test scores were always better than mine - but she did not have any friends - after school she would always scurry back
