I write the old fashioned way
nostalgic for fine verses,
full of brilliant things to say
with muses for my nurses.
I write so exceptionally well,
attacking my machine with zest.
It makes sure I can spell;
my ghostwriter does the rest!
Echoes of Keats, Byron, Shelley
swirl inside my head
as I pat my sagging belly
while my cat gets it said.
I will yet become a star,
the greatest of rhyming sages.
All my cat has written so far
impresses, astounds, and amazes!
Can't wait to be super great!
I know I will some day.
Always known this is my fate
with such brilliant things to say!

Tiki Cat here, -- now HERE IS THE TRUTH:
All above is so much guff.
For Ellis I do it all.
I'm the one who has the touch,
Ellis writes on the wall.
There is no hope for Ellis,
I do it all for him.
Too dense to be even jealous,
He pets me now and then.
So Ellis and I get along
Very well indeed.
People now, don't get this wrong:
It's me who makes this place succeed.
Ellis does not write a thing.
Nowhere is his poetry seen.
Tiki Cat writes everything.
Tiki Cat is Poetry Queen!
I know this cause I am she.
It's all written entirely by me.
Ellis does not write a line.
GET THAT THOUGHT OUT OF YOUR MIND!
I, Tiki Cat, really should be
The one you have to come to see
About the changes that we need
For this website to succeed.
It is such an obvious thing,
The change that I intend to bring.
All that's posted here must rhyme,
No free verse at any time.
Blank verse is not poetry.
It's as blank as a calm sea.
Free verse free of poetry
Is the same as prose to me.
It's a poem if it rhymes.
If it doesn't make sure it dies.
You must rhyme all the time,
Or we'll have to charge you fines.

Good. You and Tiki are here.
Oh, Ellis, I missed you.

Symphony : Oh My Goodness on September 17Well, now, how funny is that,
If it isn't Tiki Cat,
Havent seen you in quite some time
Yet never forgot the way you rhyme.
You have a talent, that's for sure;
And a furryness we all adore.
I am off now, to read what you write,
Still very sure it will be a delight!
Great to have come across you again!

basilisk : About your cat . . . on January 5Dear Neighbour,
It has come to my attention that your cat has been visiting my garden at night. I know because it is the only cat in the neighbourhood that rhymes its mark between the tomatos. It makes one wonder what is in that special food you are feeding him. More to the point, I suspect the cat has been helping himself in my herb garden. If this is the case, you may find that he is a bit listless (ie. just sits around on the couch all day watching "I Love Lucy" re-runs) and may be prone to sudden attacks of binge eating and the giggles. Not to worry, it wears off in a few hours. CAUTION: "Within every kitten a hungry tiger lurks", I advise you sleep with one eye open.
Thanks for visiting my page and leaving a few (interesting? funny?) comments.

Sandygram : Welcoming you back with hugs and smiles on December 2, 2007Glad to have you back with us,
your poetry always a plus.
Write your thoughts spin a yarn,
as Tiki hunts a mouse in barn
Now that you found your muse,
keep writing there's no excuse.
Bringing smiles to us everyday,
so glad that you are back to stay.
Nice to have you back, Sandy
