The most liberating experience of my entire life was realizing that only the insane are truly sane. This world is crazy as a pineapple in a tutu with wings, and the only way to deal with it is to be a little insane yourself. I sometimes find it hard to keep a straight face, though when the situation calls for it I can be dead serious (though this often leads to the danger of me deadpanning).
My favorite author is J.R.R. Tolkien. He created such a huge world, with so much beauty and grace that I can only stand in awe. I don't know many people who invent an entirely new language and then create a world for it so they can use it!
I will read anything from any genre along with writing anything from any genre. That said, I do tend more towards science-fiction and fantasy. To me these labels are not something that should automatically preclude a work as being great or of note. Yes, there is a lot of trash in the fantasy and science-fiction genres. However, there is a lot of trash in any genre out there. Genre doesn't matter so much as the ability of the author.

Ryan : Hello on February 14, 2008Welcome to AllPoetry. I hope your stay is a good one. Also, the reason why it says your a gold member is because you joined yesterday. All new accounts get a three day gold membership for free. After that you will lose all the stuff you have now and will get a ton of ads on your pages. I suggest atleast going silver to avoid the ads. This is really a well worth site if your really into poetry to invest in. Take care and happy trails!
