After A While ~Veronica Shoffstall

After a while you learn the difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't mean security
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes open
With the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child
And you learn to build all your roads on today
Because tomorrows ground is to uncertain for plans
And futures have a way of falling down in midflight
After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get to much
So you plant your own garden, and decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers
And you learn that you really can endure...
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth
And you learn and learn...
With every goodbye you learn.

My name is Aurora Deanna... and I think I'll keep my last name to myself. I live in southern cali. I love poetry, children, music (I'm very eclectic in my music), my sisters,my boyfriend Chris, and my beautiful nephews Malakai and Aden.

I am a woman, sister, daughter, bestfriend, aunt ( << this is definatley the most fun =0), waitress, student (of life & school), and a solitary witch.

Likes: Spaghetti, words that move you, reading (I'm a total bookworm), running, writing (obviously), all those cute things little kids say, movies, laughing (especially at my best friend Jenna), tips (the money kind, not the opinion kind), Daddy Long Legs, when my nephews wake me up with kisses (they're 3 and 5), when really sweet guys on ap write me a love poem because I've never had one, getting letters in the mail that don't say "you owe blah blah blah", and I'd really like a new car cause my sister meesed up the fender on my camry.

Dislikes: Close minded idiots, people who think their opinion about my spirituality matters to me, onions, mushrooms, meat that still bleeds ewwwwww, when people cut themselves, when people kill themselves, when people kill other people, anyone who has ever hurt a child in their life, fleas, cockroaches, and earwigs ewwwwww, people yelling at me (I get that alot), girls who use abortion as birthcontrol, people who try to take away a woman's right to make her own decision, the fact that I have to vote eithor republican or democrat or my vote doesn't count.

Please feel free to comment on my work, even if it's negative, I love feedback. Just don't be mean. Be constructive. Cause if it's mean I won't even bother reading it, I have better things to do.
