"My poems are written from deep within
It is HIS BLOOD that fills my pen
HE guides my hand from the heavens above
To write of HIS praise & words of love"
by:GWB/driftwood

I was born in Northern California and had lived in many other states in the U.S. My dad was in the Airforce for 30 yrs. and we were always moving. I went to the 1st. grade in Spain and I graduated high school in Vicenza, Italy. I wouldn't trade my youth for anything in the world.

I am a United States Navy veteran of 10 years service.
I was an (E-6) Boatswains Mate 1st Class (BM1) and trained as an Assault Boat Coxain and Combat Boat Operator among many other duties that pertained to the rate. (Jack of all trades) so they say...
My duty stations were:
USS Richmond K. Turner CG-20 (Guided Missle Cruiser)
USS Truckee AO-147 (Attack Oiler)
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (SIMA) (Riggers Shop)
USS New Jersey BB-62 (plank owner) (Battleship) (Hello Paul Amado)
Beirut, Lebanon (Multinational Peacekeeping Force)
USS Dwight D. Eisenhower CVN-69 (Aircraft Carrier)

I would have stayed in for 20 years and retired, but as luck would have it, I was medically discharged with a problem in my lower back. GO NAVY!!! and I am behind all that serve 100%, no matter which branch it may be.

"Non sibi sed patriae" (Not self but country)!!!!

As I read your poetry there is so much of it that reaches my heart. You seem to have a nack for pulling in the reader and letting them feel what you're writing. There is a wonderful talent here. Keep up God's work.
