"I act like shit don't phase me. Inside it drives me crazy! My insecurities could eat me alive!" But then, I reach for a pad of paper and a pencil and I write about all of it. I make it all go away for just a bit as I lose myself in a world all my own. I forget that I'm a loser asshole who's hated by all. I forget that I lost my best friend to suicide and drugs and the rock and roll lifestyle. I forget that I am lonely and depressed. I forget that the only time guys will give me a second look is when they're high. I forget that I am living a lie because I don't feel comfortable enough with myself to come out to the people I love. I forget the scars across my arm and stomach. I forget that I have to make up everything good about my life because if I had to admit to myself that I don't have anything going right for me, I would have killed myself years ago. I forget that the only happiness I have is in my head and I try to pretend that that is the real world. But, inevitably, I always fall back into reality. Now, though, the only thing that I'm living for is that hour that I can set aside every day to put all of the days frustrations and muses and thoughts and joys (rarely, but they exist!) on paper or on my site in the purest form of expression known to man, allegedly given by the gods themselves: poetry.
