I am just a woman
A pawn of the bloom of Eve
I wear sheets in the east
Girdles in the west,
and Europe binds me in corsettes
and lies
Yet no nation will allow
Me to lead..
to run..
to have...
to need...
and own myself
completely
I am just woman
The discarded seed of Adam
~~me
~I needed a hole to bury my darker thoughts in, here it is, be careful where ya step.~
I am slightly jaded and have this awful tendancy to call a spade a spade. I am blunt, brutally so. I am a feminist that does not burn my bra...hell I NEED it. I don't take crap from anyone. I also don't give it,unless it is asked for either outright, or through sublime interpretation. I am no ones bitch, whore, or babe. Speak properly to me or shut up and go away. Yes I believe in love, fairies and cute babies. That doesn't make me a puss though. If you like these writes...cheerio. If not, oh well. I won't be rude to you, so play nice and return the favor. Thanks, I guess, for stopping in. Bon appetite.
The Banishment
By: Suzanne Owens
Whom else you expelled like a titan forever
Wild and powerless to return? Fate will devour you
As your father swallowed his children
Wasn't I born Discordia, Goddess of error?
Have I caused more havoc than my sisters: sorrow
Slaughter, famine, murderous quarrel?
Wasn't the daughter of night, mother of lawlessness
my mother too? I never claimed the golden apple
You were nourished on nectar from rare beehives
Honey does not make a king. Beware bee eater.
Balance your light. Remember hades, invisible
By his magic helmet. You breathe his air, as I do,
Curdling into the human: the tin-lidded
Flesh-stench, strife broken clay, the mock trial.
Like the valley, I am jealous
Of the mountain. My view thickens. I watch
The cleqar light of Olympus narrow.
Nut-shell huddled sheds take shape. I taste
Vineyards, wool, bondage. Sweat mists
The rivers, sadness and Lamentation.
Into what new fires can I pitch the mortal,
What unaccountable nights? Haven't you yourself
Unblessed the deathlings with afterworlds they will
Unleash inside themselves, useless to forestall?
Poor momentaries--creatured to perish. Even I
The one who sets the moon afire, who consumes coral,
Its poison exuding from my skin, plead
Isn't it enough, to dole out entire shares
Of lightning bolts in clay pots that stand
Left and right like sentinels by your palace door?
Zeuss banished Discordia, one of his
daughters, because she caused vengeance,
greed, and war among the gods. He sent her
to Earth to hurl man into disaster....
she is still at it.

Discordia Lamented on September 7, 2005Well Aeris, I am thrilled to meet you. I warn however that a good portion of my writes come from that jaded part of my soul that is strong mouthed, as well as strong natured. I am still fresh here, and enjoy meeting new friends. Say hi anytime. Toodles.

Pink Absinthe on September 7, 2005hello, i just saw your name on the list to the left! i am greatly suprised! firstly your name is passionate and strong! secodnly, i love the poem on the top of your page! secondly, go feminism, if i were a woman i'd be one! and spade's are spade's...and thats what they should be caled! better than conceited lies, huh? and lastly i LOVE the little info on the bottom of your page, i love Greek Mythology and the line 'she still does' brought it to life for me! i'll probably read some of your work, because your already seem like a very interesting person!
