Life is a song of past waiting to be sung by our hearts throbbing for yet another tomorrow. But the rush of tomorrow is but a waste of time when we still have this moment to cherish. Let's keep singing our songs with our fullest of full hearts and this world will see the beauty a simple soul can create.
"Remember tonight... for it is the beginning of always."
--- Dante Alighieri (1265-1321); Italian writer ---
I'm a 23-year-old woman from Finland which is a very small - but apparently not all that unknown - country in Europe. We don't have penquins or polarbears but we do have snow
"Someone said that life is a party. You join in after it's started and leave before it's finished."
--- Elsa Maxwell (1883-1963), U.S. writer, hostess ---
I've been writing poetry since 2003. I consider myself more of a story writer than a poet but I enjoy the world of poems too. I'm still learning a lot when it comes to poetry, but I take it one step at a time.
Abstract, abstarct, abstract, abstract...
Soon after I started writing poetry, I understood that stories didn't fit in directly for me. I love big words and big emotions, metaphors and imagery. I love poems that tell more stories than one, preferably a different one for each reader. After a few years of trying to find my style, I did find it in abstract poetry. I don't claim I have mastered it, not even closely, but I am studying. My poems tell more stories than one, may it be a good thing or a bad one, and I like it that way. That's who I am; a complicating person.
"A beautiful form is better than a beautiful face; it gives a higher pleasure than statues or pictures; it is the finest of the fine arts."
--- Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882), U.S. writer ---
And when it comes to me... Well, I'm just another weirdo along the way of life. I'm an honest person and I say what I think. I just am myself and I don't try to be anyone else in any occasion. I'm too nice though, and it shows on my comments, as I find something good in each poem...
Well, I'm myself and that's the way I like things
"I don't hate anyone. I dislike. But my dislike is the equivalent of anyone else's hate."
--- Elsa Maxwell (1883-1963), U.S. writer, hostess ---

When horizons fold into evening stars and clocks keep ticking ahead,
-
Fly high upon wings of the heron of birth
and reunite yourself with time. -
Strings pull rigorously and tear up skin
that circumvents beneath a lost force... -
Another bleeding heart laced in Ferris wheel to repeat its broken rounds,
groveling aloft, above ground to conceal the revolting breaking

Virgoan on September 27, 2007Hello there

I just came across your home page and found out that you are from Finland. One of the nations in Europe that I am very fascinated. Not because you have Nokia...lol. There is something about your country's culture that I have read that fascinates me.
I am from the Philippines, an Asian country.
I will be reading your poem soon.

snk : =) on September 7, 2007Thanks so much for the comment. I find the fact that you're from Finland amazing. I'm 100% Finnish, but I've never had the oppurtunity to visit the country. Maybe someday...
Thanks again for the input.
