Salve!
No, I'm not Italian. I'm just taking the class. I'm in my second year of the language, and hope to be taking it until I'm fluent--even if that means into college. Afterwards, I have a set goal to learn Latin.
Though I excell in English and enjoy poetry and analysis, I'm aiming to major in the medical field. My goal in life is to become a pathologist, who works with major pandemics and epidemics with fatal or horrible results. My largest interest is the influenza virus, which I seem to be more attached to out of all deadly viruses and diseases.
Other than that, I love writing in my free time. Most of the time, my poetry is rather dark, sad, or depressing, but that doesn't mean I'm mostly the aforementioned emotions. In fact, I am often hyperactive in school and rather quiet at home. Poetry is mostly a release and a fun activity for me. Though I don't have plans to be a writer or poet for the most part, I definitely hope to publish at least one poem. That's been my goal since I started writing poetry at the young age of nine. Overall, I've been writing it for over seven and a half years. Thus, I'm still improving.
Because of recent events, I've been forced to remember and cope with abusive times in my past. Therefore, a lot of my latest poetry may be on, involving, or about abuse and its effects on others, as well as myself.
Otherwise, have some basic facts on Dark Phoenix!
1) I'm bisexual, blonde, and Jewish. Don't know why that's important, it just is. ;D
2) I'm the youngest of two children in my family, but constantly told--much to my chagrin--that I have an old (mature?) mentality. I guess that varies from bystander to bystander.
3) People have a right to their opinions. I'm a member of a philosophy club, where we debate over issues constantly. I don't see anything wrong with being friends with the opposition.
4) I'm an animal-lover, who knew?! No, really. I'm practically obsessed, I guess you could say. I've been studying all kinds of species since I was a toddler, and though I may be a smart alec and flaunt information every so often, I don't know everything, and never will.
5) I horseback ride! When I can, that is. I live in an area with only private ranches, so I'm stuck with finding trail rides on vacation. Eventually, I hope to own thoroughbreds, and participate in one of my all time favorite sports: horseracing.
6) Nationality-wise, I'm a proud mix of European countries: German, Russian, British, Irish, and Scottish. (A German Jew?! Yes, I know.)
7) I live in Los Angeles, California. I'm a Valley girl, born and raised in the San Fernando valley, but despite contrary belief, I don't say 'like' every two words. I say it every three.
Sorry for the hyperactivity.
... That's pretty much me in a nutshell. Have a look around and enjoy!
