Hi! Ma name's Candice, but many people call me Canned Ice because it's funny and an easy reminder on how to spell my name. My inspirations draw from life, so my subject matter ranges from love and hate all the way to something as simple as being bored. I love music and books and movies and the like... my favorite writers are Tolkien, Poe, Ogden Nash, and a buncha others who i will try to mimick every once in a while. so i'm putting an excerpt from a semi-well-known poem by J.R.R. Tolkien called 'Mythopoeia' which means, "the making of myths":

'In Paradise perchance the eye may stray
from gazing upon everlasting day
to see the day-illumined, and renew
from mirrored truth the likeness of the True.
Then looking on the Blessed Land 'twill see
that all is as it is, and yet made free:
salvation changes not, nor yet destroys,
garden nor gardner, children nor their toys.
Evil it wil not see, for evil lies
not in God's picture but in crooked eyes,
not in the source but in malicious choice,
and not in sound but in the tuneless voice.
In Paradise they look no more awry;
and though they make anew, they make no lie.
Be sure they still will make, not being dead,
and poets shall have flames upon their head,
and harps whereon their faultless fingers fall:
there each shall choose forever from the All.'

i wish i could put the whole poem up but it's rather long... so yeah.. where was i? oh umm.. i have a bunch friends on here who write poetry a lot better than mine, all i can tell you about my poetry is that i put what i feel into it and try to add my heart and soul.. i try to make it rhyme but sometimes it's impossible.. and i love everyone until proven guilty in my eyes.

"but i've got promises to keep,
and miles to go before i sleep,
and miles to go before i sleep."

Hi Candice, thanks for commenting on my poem The Prisoner Of Life. It is very sad. "He finally found the ultimate cure." Those who seriously contemplate suicide need something to cure them before they cure themselves, permanently. It's the easy way out, the coward's way out. It's so much easier than facing all the pain and problems that haunt some. It just takes a moment or two and...poof, all the problems are gone! I just can't imagine being that sad or depressed, I can't!
