Like my personality, my poems tend to be slightly eccentric. I write mostly in free verse, and can get inspired by the strangest things (and make some slightly odd metaphors, while I'm at it). A lot of times, poems are inspired by random thoughts that pop into my head, which I think would sound pretty cool in a poem.
Most of the time, I'm essentially a quiet person, but when I get on a roll with something I'm passionate about you'd be hard pressed to shut me up until I'm sure I've made my point. It's gotten to the point that I'm more outspoken-- being in a debate society for three years will do that, I suppose-- but I'm still among the quietest of my all friends.
I'm in my first year of law school at Roger Williams University-- which has the effect of severely reducing the amount of time I have to write and read poetry, but I'm hoping this will change after this year.
I aspire to be a civil rights attorney and work for an organization for the ACLU or the Anti-Defamation League. My tagline is that my goal is to help people and piss off conservatives at the same time.

My Poetry

I have caught your voice, recorded
in the looping rhythms -
I, too, am made up of conjecture—
hinted at between the gaps of tinted diction, -
I don’t ignore the forest for the trees—
a cultured landscape looks for glade and lake

Topnotchsy on June 5Hey, nice to see another Jew on the site (we should really make some sort of group.) I'm going to go check out your writing.

vaguelyfamiliar on October 25, 2008Oh I just found you and I will be back.
Occasionally poets remind me to have faith that there is poetry left somewhere that doesn't make me vomit up half-truths.
Thank you. -
solarjinx on October 12, 2008congrats on graduating, from one impartial jew to another! your poems have gained so much intellectual momentum, I feel retarded when I read them.

sultan : I looked you up ... on August 4, 2008... after reading your comment on my poem, ‘Broken Table’. Thanks. (By the way, the please came before the ease … I didn’t force it in there (smile). Anyway, I’m not one who should give anyone career advice; but I noticed you’re thinking about working for the ACLU and that Earth-to-Jim feels strongly about it. Since my line of work sort of discounts any opinion I might have about altruistic work goals, I’ll keep my views to myself. But, I think Earth-to-Jim is one of the smartest guys around AllPoetry. So, you’d probably benefit from thinking hard about what he’s saying. Warm regards, Sultan
PS … I love your pen name.
