Claw of AlbelShow poetry

Well, seeing as how my comments on poetry in this site go unnoticed, I'll be taking my leave now.  Good day to you all.

Here are some of my favorite quotes. (Just searching for something to do I guess)
"One who knows nothing can understand nothing."

"Welcome to the Daily Show, LADIES DRINK FREE!!"

"This is an ex-parrot!"

"They walked along, two continents of experience and feeling, unable to communicate."

"What if this is as good as it gets?"

"Hmph...The red carpet has teeth."

"You have to face your fears, not just follow them up!"

"Imagine all the things in the world that never were.  And all the things that could have been."

"Now Sauron, I told you to stop playing in that tower, someone's going to lose an eye"

"I'M NOT FAT! I'm festively plump!"

"Someone for everyone, but no one for me"

"Real eyes realize real lies."

By the way these are two really good poems that I found (At least I think they're good)

  The Eagle
  He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

  The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.
                             Alfred, Lord Tennyson (1809-1892)
  and...

  Ars Poetica
A poem should be palpable and mute
  As a globed fruit,

  Dumb
As old medallions to the thumb,

  Silent as the sleeve-worn stone
Of casement ledges where the moss has grown

  A poem should be wordless
  As the flight of birds.

A poem should be motionless in time
  As the moon climbs,

  Leaving, as the moon releases
Twig by twig the night-entangled trees,

Leaving, as the moon behind the winter leaves,
  Memory by memory the mind

A poem should be motionless in time
  As the moon climbs,

A poem should be equal to:
  Not true.

For all the history of grief
An empty doorway and a maple leaf.

  For love.
The leaning grasses and two lights above the sea

  A poem should not mean
  But be.
                  Archibald Macleish (1892-1982)

Enjoy the poems.

Lol, I did pretty good at Bryant staying on top of things, here is a different story, not because of procrastination, though a bit of that is always hanging about, but because there is so much else to do before you get down to the big things, like the project they've given us a year and a half to work on. It's hard to sit down and work on something like that when you have so many other little things to do that are due earlier. Definately get the college thing together, that's not something you want to screw up on. Sounds like you are doing better, though, and enjoying life more in general. That's great. I hope to keep hearing from you.

I have trouble seeing you as anything but that little scrawny boy in English class I don't mean anything bad by that, it's just what's in my head. It's good to hear that you're doing better and enjoying writing (finally). It's an incredible outlet, and not much compares to what it can do for you. I'd like to see some new things you've written, but it's hard to find time for much else but school right now. I knew what I was getting into when I came up here, but it's never what you think it'll be, and when the work is there in front of you it's a lot different than just saying that you can do it before you get there. Have any college plans? English/creative writing major? Don't give me too much credit for getting you into this, I don't recall doing anything spectacular, but it is nice to know I'm remembered fondly by someone from my past. I don't really talk to any of the Bryant people any more, so I don't really know how I'm remembered there... it's odd, you know, how you want people to remember and think well of you, even when you're gone and it doesn't really matter anymore (not that it ever really mattered what they though of you in the first place). There really is a very primal urge to fit in and be loved in there somewhere. Odd. Anyway, sounds like things are going pretty good where you are, so just keep it up and good luck!

Hey, Matt. I definately haven't been by here and said hi in a while. I do think of you occasionally though... There is this guy, Eric, in my Spanish class that reminds me of you. Not a bad thing or a good thing really, just slightly peculiar. Hope things are going well for you.
