Hello, and welcome to my corner of Allpoetry, and a corner that, quite sadly, I have neglected for quite some time. Though, I don't write much anymore (though, I still love poetry), I feel like I have to at least check in every once in a while and look at my old writings.

Anyways, my name is Corbin, but do to it's link to the French/Latin word for raven, I often go by Raven online as a pseudonym. I am a college student from the middle of nowhere in Ohio, with a major in Astrophysics and an interest in taking at least a minor in Mathematics. I love most academic subjects though, and I've always loved writing since I was little.

As you can see from my writings, I am fond of dark imagery, and that hasn't changed much, though I would say that my view on the world has changed quite a bit since I last put my pen to paper. I am a naturalist and have a distaste for most organize religions, though I try to be understanding of others. I guess you may call me me, since that is who I am, and no musty tome of a zealot can change that.

Feathery clouds...

Sitting in my darkened mind
Escaping this gap that's closing in on me
This is now that I know is my end
My end to whatever is happening
Look in the mirror
To see a face that doesn't belong to me

There will I go
Into my feathery clouds
My beautiful black feathery clouds
There will I finally go

Imaginary claws grabbing at my flesh
A feathery wing brushes across my cheek
Giving me some kind of comfort
The light fluttering giving me someone to talk to
No one can fix me for I am not broken
I am just lost...
Lost in somewhere I don't fully belong

There will I go
Into my feathery clouds
My beautiful black feathery clouds
There will I finally go

I finally spread my arms
As I up-rise to a never-ending flight
I am finally free
No longer will I feel anymore pain
I am where I finally belong
Up high above my lost body
Which is now a single black feather
