Hi! I'm Cassandra, and this happens to be my author page
I love to write(obviously) and read, I love all forms of art, and I'm very into fashion and other such things concerning that. I plan on going to school for cosmetology soon, as well as for make-up artistry; both fields I have a strong passion for.
Skateboarding would be another thing I enjoy doing, although I'm not that great at it
I LOVE music, too. Some of my favorite bands are MSI, My Chemical Romance, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, A Perfect Circle, and many others. I love Norah Jones (she reminds me of my mommie... ) and Everything But The Girl, among others. Musically, I can play a few things on the piano, and I was learning to play the guitar but never got around to really doing anything with it(long story).
Concerning religion, well, it's hard to explain, but I do believe in a higher power, but it's just that I'm unsure of who/what it is. I've been through A LOT of tough times, abuse and whatnot, but, even though at those times I thought it was best to die in my agony, I'm glad I didn't do anything to seriously damage myself. I've had plenty of people tell me that there's always a way out of depression, that there's always the sun shining at the end of a dark forest path. I never believed them, but I can actually say that they were right.
One thing I do hope those of you who show interest in my work, I hope that you all will consider making REALLY good comments on my poems. I dislike when i get comments that say "Good job! Keep on writing!" and bullshit like that. Leave good (or bad) comments, my friends! Maybe try and give me critical critiques with suggestions or something? Please?
Now about my style and such....
My poetry is just about how I feel, whatever is on my mind. Most of the poems posted are old ones that I've been collecting from May 2003 til present. I have no set style, no set rhyming scheme, and I sometimes curse. A lot of poems and are kinda...depressing. It has to deal with the depressing yuck I've endured. Many people relate to it, so that's what is most important to me. If someone else can get something from what I write, then I accompished something great.
I'm big on people being themselves, not fitting into a societal mold. People shouldn't care what others think about them, and it doesn't matter, for the most part, what people say. They're ignorant as to why someone is the way they are. Let them continue existing miserably, because one day they'll regret their actions and biting words.
AHHH! FINALLY, I have all my old poetry on this site, so I guess that's all copyrighted.
YeSsss....
A few of my favorite quotes from various people....
"Be true! Be true! Be true! Show freely to the world, if not your
worst, yet some trait whereby the worst may be inferred!"
-from the Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel
Hawthorne
I LOVE THIS QUOTE!!! I don't like the book so much, though. It's just how I feel people should be.
"Love , and then do what you will."
-St. Augustine
"COMMITMENT IS WHAT TRANSFORMS A PROMISE INTO A REALITY."
-Unknown?
"DESTINY IS NOT A MATTER OF CHANCE, IT'S A MATTER OF CHOICE."
-Again, unknown?
"VISION IS NOT SEEING THINGS AS THEY ARE, BUT AS THEY WILL BE."
-Yet again, unknown?
The 3 quotes in caps are my favorites.
