I was a very active business owner until four years ago when I had to stop working due to Parkinson's Disease. That is when the world of poetry opened up to me. In learning to use a computer, I started writing without ever having written anything before. But I have always loved poetry, especially that with a lyrical or rhythmic quality. I like Paul Verlaine and Vinicius de Morais, who was Brazil's most famous poet and song writer in the 1960's. He could write a verse about an instument in the rhythm of the instrument and in the process make a comentsry on social conditions.I lost my husband 2 years ago, which was very devastating to me, but through my grief have compiled ten books of poetry (Not published) although some of my poems have been published. I have not been as active on this site due to illness and my involvement in several projects.I have a very close knit family and a lot of happy times with my four children and 6 grandchildren.I love nature and used to hike and so I like to write about nature and love and things I've learned in life.
