My book, "My Breath Ballet" has just been released. I am thrilled at the experience of writing and what it has brought to my life. I am an artist (contemporary artist with a heavy emphasis on surrealism and abstract art) and just recently started writing, May of 2005. My writing, much like my art, has come to me out of nowhere. Many of my ideas come from dreams that I have and for poetry, sometimes it is like "hearing voices." Rather than run from them, I embrace them, and put them on the page. It is then I find release. Some of what I write about is based on truth, but other pieces are strickly fictional, much like an actress takes on a role in a play. I want to see if I can be convincing and believable - for to me, that is the sign of a truly great writer, someone who can write about anything, even if they haven't experienced it for themselves. My motto...Learn to Laugh, Live to Love! Cherie
