....Poetry is an expression
of my emotions
often those feelings that are hardest
to speak about
either to others or myself.
Poetry is an explanation
of what is happening in my heart
and in my head.
I can put poetry in front,
like a mirror,
so that reality may be reflected
away from my soul,
or wrap it like lint and bandages
around wounds inflicted on my heart.
Poetry is myself
in words
in black and white.

I am influenced by many things in my writing, but predominantly emotion, and of that, mainly love, or its lack. I incorporate nature into my writing, and have written poems on war, religion and society. As I am pursuing my creative goal of publishing in pocket-pamphlet format, not much of my poetry is here, but it will hopefully give you a cross-section to enjoy, and I hope you do enjoy it. Please visit me at www.celticnomad.net. My first and second chapbooks, 'Heart On My Sleeve' and 'Window On My Soul' are available to buy online, the next one is in the works..
Lastly, for those who want to know, Celtic Nomad is because I was born in Ireland, have Irish and Scottish blood in my veins, have also lived in Scotland and Cornwall, and am currently living in Andalucia - it seemed an appropriate name...
