My poetry and songs were an attempt to communicate to others when I began suffering from depression at the age of fourteen.  I continued to suffer and write until I was twenty-eight.  I have finally broken free from those chains, but have also found a block now when it comes to my writing.  I am hoping that by posting my past work I will again be motivated and inspired to write again.  This time with a happier frame of mind. Friends have told me that my writing is simple and easy to understand and that makes it comfortable to the reader.

I am currently striving to hold down a full-time job while also attending school full-time.  My major is Liberal Studies and I hope to one day be an elementary school teacher.  I love to hang out with my two sisters-in-law (Jamie & Hailey), spend whatever time I can with my husband, travel, read, listen to music, talk on the phone with my parents, and dream about when I'm finally done with school!!

I welcome any thoughts you have about my work.

  This is my heart…
  given wide open to you.
  Not just a glimpse
  but everything
I have known to be true.
  It is my gift,
  my craft,
  my scribblings and such,
  my thoughts,
  my feelings,
  my emotions,
  my trust.
Pray, be gentle with such a tender thing.
It is the deepest and most purest part of me.

Nice to hear from you. Congratulations on your book. Summer is acutally crazier for me than Fall was as I am taking three classes (so I can graduate in December). I have time for nothing other than work and school. I haven't even really noticed the heat because I am always indoors (air-conditioning); how sad is that!? I get on Allpoetry about one a week though just to try and check it. Thanks for stopping by - I hope to get more active on the site again in the Fall (I'll only have 2 classes then). Have fun in Nebraska!

Hey, girl, how is your summer? I am MELTING, and somehow gaining weight at the same time Can you figure that one out?

We are going to take off for Nebraska next week, so hopefully, it won't be so hot there.

My novel is number 8 on my publisher's top 10. www.whiskeycreekpress.com/index.shtml#bestsellers

    Stay cool.
