My name is Julie. I'm in my second year of college and am majoring in Criminal Justice. Most of my poems are about sad times in my life, the newest ones are about the happiest. I've met someone finally, it took me 18 long years, but it was worth the wait. I love him with my whole heart. We also are now engaged to get married. Anything else you might want to know, just ask.
A few quotes I really love:
"For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else." (Applies to my life so well.)
"One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching."
"Perhaps our eyes need to be washed by our tears once in awhile, so that we can see life with a clearer view again." ~Alex Tan
"For everything you have missed, you have gained something else, and for everything you gain, you lose something else." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson (I truly believe this one.)
"To live in this world you must be able to do three things: to love what is moral; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and when the time comes to let it go."
"Cause I swear that I'm dying, slowly, but it's happening."
"When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure." ~Peter Marshall
"Love Is"
Love is a game
just meant to be played.
Love is a phrase.
just overly clichéd.
It's dominated by cheaters,
players, and rule-breakers.
Where three words often said
are lies spoken by fakers.
Love is an emotion
and hormones are the cause.
Love is perfection
that brings out your flaws.
Young ones are swayed
into believing that it's real.
Soon concious of mistakes,
next fear is what you feel.
Love is a wish
desired by so many loners.
Love is a sight
shown off by its owners.
It's a sad pathetic world
when love is only wanted,
for the sake of having it,
and for it to be flaunted.
Love is a drug,
addictive and strong.
Love is a toy.
and you're strung along.
The endings are painful,
yet again you will start,
to end with more lies and tears,
and another cruelly broken heart.
Love is a reason
to be treated like dirt.
Love is an excuse,
an excuse to get hurt.

I saw this poem on Deviantart.com and thought it described love perfectly. Don't get me wrong I love being in love now, but for all the heartbreaks I went through and the pain of wanting to be with someone, but them not wanting to be with me; well it takes a toll.
