FAR-EDGED POETRY:
Far edged" means not of the norm. No clichés. Use an original usage of language and metaphor and writing to the prompt in an uncommon way. Take it way out in left-field to meet the prompt. Do not take the easy road or common way of expressing the theme. Go way out on the far-edge of the theme to write and ‘edgy” poem.

In poetry, as in life: I am Eagle Woman; eye that takes in even smallest details, the heart of forgiveness, a woman of new beginnings, creativity and inspiration. I mean to be love on shafts of air.

My favorite commenter and poet on AP: On "Bent Wish" poem I wrote about losing my voice

Somehow, I found my token arms,
greater hole of path-way feather,
like nest-arrested broken charms
in light-lipped bedding,
brought to bare
through joy of blissful shadow-down
truth;

our distant glance,
lie fading youth.

I called your name in rivet- rain wash,
where we laid stream
with soul-drenched moon,
swallowed fast of windswept nails
impaling kiss to flowing storm,
down rails of thunder-shredding sails.

You spoke then of feast-less famine,
examining more than love might flower
on cold-stone night,
our late-heart hour
leaving note to waning supposition.

I give you back your stolen voice
of legs and fishes,
to bottle toss, wet with choice,

corking tendril-hope tornado,

our lover's credo cold and terrifying
crying now to sleep in justification.

For where was time
when time was new,

where was bird to sing another season,

the comfort child of kindergarten snowflakes
sending laugh in heaven-shimmed weather
where holiday breaks

in evergreen wishes?

    Hi Carol,

I've just read your collaboration poem with Wanda, on the subject of friendship and sisterhood. It was a stellar piece! Have added it to my list of favourite pieces by others, which is easier for me than having an endless list of bookmarks, and too, so others who visit my AP space can be introduced to authors' works I have found myself moved by when reading. I've also placed you on my favourites list, as I would love to keep up with your posted material. You have a wonderful writing style, which worked so harmoniously and effectively with Wanda's own.

    Best wishes,
    Stu

Just an addendum to something that was written in my guestbook re: lists. A copy of the note I sent:

Oh, no, this is not happening, please say this is not true. I do have many lists, and I have a list that says favorites but it is poetry, not authors. We all have the favorite list of people that is given with the account, of course. I do not say anyone should read anyone, unless I see a new poet who might ask how to do something and I know the writers who enter my contests and will send them there or to someone on my favorites' list. I think Wanda has lists of her favorites as well, and keeps track of poems she loves in those folders. I think it is just poetic license for her to do so. And, often, I will go and check out her list, for time does not always allow me to hit all my favorites' writing. Some are very prolific and are the same people. Some we have been friends with for years. Some we have met and some we have talked to on the telephone. I think that is the reason she keeps track of us. I would not be the writer I am today without her encouragement and her comments, truly.
I am sorry you have taken such offense. Wanda is a true poet right to the bones. She has come to defense of me and I am sorry for such kerfuffle.

Please, know that I thank you for your comment about my poem, and know too, I did not know whether to be insulted for my topics, my writing, or what the threat was, or what. The original post was not clear to me. I had no idea what harm you were speaking of. I think I do understand now. You resent that we may seem to be promoting only a few. No, poet, we are both poets who go to entries of new poets and encourage and invite, and we have been doubly blessed for doing so by meeting the other poets that we have on our favorites' lists. I hope you do not let this be a sour note in poetic appreciation of others work. And, if Wanda states someone is an incredible poet, I do know, she would know. Let there be peace, at least, here.
    Sincerely,
    Carol.
