I am, a summers dream that has been lost in the wind for to many years to count. I am just a woman, that is a simple as it gets. I have the same dreams and hopes as any man, I have the same worth as any man, and I have the same abilities. I am not weaker then you, I am not worthless, I am not helpless, and I will not stand for your abuse. I am a dream come true for someone, I am not sure who yet, but he is out there. I am just as capable as you are, And there is nothing you can do that I cannot.

To all the men, who have ever made me feel like I was less then they were, this message is for you. To every man who has ever put a woman down because she was a woman, this message is for you, I am more them you, I am the bigger person. I can turn my wrench just as well as you can, I can dream just as big as you can, I can do everything that you have the ability to do, and anyone who tells me any different is wrong. There is nothing wrong with being a woman.

WE ARE STRONG! A woman can be just as careless and thoughtless as a man, it is human, only if a woman does it, she is looked down on and reprimanded, how is that fair. A woman can hurt herself just as bad as a man can and not seek help. When she does it, she is stupid, when a man does it, he is tough.

We bleed just like you do, We feel just like you do, We want just like you do, Why do you see us as less. I wear the same uniform as you, I live on the same earth, I have the same worries and cares. I can die just like you, I can shoot a man just like you can, I can laugh and cry just as hard as you.

But a woman’s downfall, We feel. We care. We love.

To every woman who has ever been put down by a man, do not listen. You are every bit as good as he. He is not good enough for you. Men demean us to feel better about themselves, They hide themselves from us, they are afraid. They don’t know what it means to live.

I am a lover, a dreamer, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a sinner, but most importantly I AM A SOLDIER… I AM AN AIRMAN.

My life is in my uniform, my pride is in my country, I love my brothers and sisters, I love this country, There is no way that anyone can tear that away from me. I dream in red and white, and I bleed Blue.

I am a step above and beyond, I salute the flag and I lose my friends. I have seen one die, I have seen some live. I have seen the wounded and heartbroken, And I have met heroes. I am a romantic, I love everything that I do.

I wake up in the morning and put my uniform on, Shine my boots at night, I look at myself and I know that I am part of something bigger then myself. I am proud of what I can do, and what I have done, But at the same time, I am worried about the people I serve with.

I respect everyone who serves in a uniform, and I think that they should do the same, But it is simply not the case. An airman doesn’t respect those who out rank them, likewise an NCO can’t respect an airman.

Respect is a 2 way street, You must give to receive. If you will be disrespectful to an NCO they will not respect you. Same goes for another airman. I know that it seems obvious but it isn’t.

The air force has been my dream for years, Since I was 11 years old, now I am living in it. The air force means the world to me.

A is for the ambition that I feel that everyone airman should have. Ambition should be the driving force of your career. You must want to advance yourself. Become a better person. Learn how to do a job, or be respectful. Have more dicipline, anything that you haven’t done before.

I is for the integrity that is outlined by our core values, and something that most airmen lack these days, the only thing they lack. This is the center and core of everything that we are. Simply it is doing things right, even when no one is looking. You do not need a reward to do the right thing.

R is for respect. Respect like I said, goes both ways. The generation that is now starting to “Grow up” doesn’t know the meaning of this word. Respect is for those you work for and work with.

F is for faith. Not religious faith that many may think, but faith in your orders, faith in your supiriors, faith in your friends, and faith in yourself. Believe in yourself, Dream for yourself. But most of all, do everything that you have always wanted to do.

O is for obedience. Not beint a yes man, but knowing when to follow a lawful order, it is knowing that you are an important part of a larger corporation. Knowing you are an essential part of something great, something that you can be proud of for the rest of your life

R is for regulation. Knowing what to do and when to do it, being disciplined, and military, carying yourself like you ought to, being someone great

C is for the control that an airman must exhibit on an daily basis in the eye of the public. It is not saying the wrong thing, it is being a good person, it is giving a positive view of the military as a whole.

E is for excellence, the last core valus that we have. Excellence in all be do. This is not gving up because something is hard, this is living day to day as a good person, it is loving your job enough to take that extra time.

I have done some of those, and others I haven’t… I think I am a good military WOMAN.

When I was at the airport, I signed up for a delta airline thing and they gave me a stuffed animal. I was in my uniform and saw a small girl crying about 20 miniutes ago. Although I wanted to keep the stuffed animan, compassion and my love for others took over. I walked over and gave her the teddy bear. It is thesse acts that the public sees.

I am currently working 2 shifts a day. I got to school from 7 untill 3:00, (MQTP) and I leave and Work on the flight line. Now, this school is not something I chose to do, it is mandatory. I get home at 2300 and I go to sleep, wake up the next morning and go to work. It has been 6 days straight I have been doing that, I took a break… But that is true dedication… That is love for the job, love for your country.

That is what I have.

Hua.

Life lessons.

Things I have learned on the flightline.

Always bring CWG to the flight line. When you do it will be warm, if you don’t you will freeze your ass off.

Lazer tag is fun, drinking is alright too

Don’t talk to boomers, and if you do, don’t let your co-workers know.

They will hogtie you in the truck and torture you until you renounce your so called friend.

The gas mask is your friend during exercises. You put it on, take it off, put on on take it off ECT… this is the only action you will get all week.

Hiding on the flight Line with your flashers on does not constitute working

Getting out every 5 minutes can.

Simulated FOD checks are a bad idea

Real FOD checks mean getting out of the truck, running your hand over the tires, actually checking for FOD, rolling forward slightly, and doing the same thing. These do not exist.

Saluting is not optional, we just don’t care.

Pilots are not our friends

TO’s are QA proofing, that is it.

When the flaps are down, you will hurt yourself.

Specialists are good at shoveling snow, it has been proven

When they come in code 1. That means something is wrong, the pilot just doesn’t know it yet.

Landing gear locks are not optional.

ARR doors can be closed manually.

When a pilot salutes you at end marshal do not laugh at him… bad things happen…

NEVER open the cargo door when the plane is on jacks.

The boom compartment is not for sleeping

Likewise ladders are not for kicking… or throwing.

Magnets break very easily.

Stripping screws because sheet metal pisses you off is a bad idea it does not promote teamwork.

When you open the cowling make sue it is locked, not doing so will cause very angry hydro troops.

QD’s are not toys

Hard candy is not for throwing… but we don’t care

The heater is a good friend at 2 in the morning on the flight line,

When you can’t connect the mule, stop trying, if you don’t you will start to cross thread the QD’s and soak yourself in hydraulic fluid.

Jets cannot do our job, neither can crew chiefs. Don’t let them touch anything they will break it.

A howmal code is more of a … starting point then Anything

“This shit is fucked up” should never be written in an official air force

document.

Neither should “I fixed this bitch”

Or “Whoever wrote this up s a fucking R-tard.

FUBAR is not a discrepancy.

QSAS has a meaning… Remember that

The speed limit is 15... All the time.

Don’t walk over the tow bar. This is a DSV and can only end in PAIN.

GO81 is the reincarnation of the devil

Iraq is not an option

12 hour shifts = very hyper hydro troops

Snowball fights on the flight line are strictly prohibited, but it is perfectly acceptable to chase airmen around with the bobcat

A bird strike report is a good way you get back at crew chiefs.

 And lastly

NCOs’ DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING.

Standing Clapping you said it all and you said it well!!! Military family here too. When the uniform comes off people think the war is over the soldier and family know it never is that easy. Mr and MS tax payer want to use you and than want you to disappear quietly with no cost or trouble to them. They want the great American dream just not to shed blood to protect the right for it.
    God Bless
