It's like you're a drug
It's like you're a demon I can't face down
It's like I'm stuck
It's like I'm running from you all the time
And I know I let you have all the power
It's like the only company I seek is misery all around
It's like you're a leech
Sucking the life from me
It's like I can't breathe
Without you inside of me
And I know I let you have all the power
And I realize I'm never gonna quit you over time
-"addicted" sung by Kelly Clarkson
My Name is Candice. I live in Florida. I started writting actual poetry about 6 years ago but I was born with a love for music and have been writting songs since thoughts started emerging from my head. I love to sing and dance and just be me. I'm not perfect, and by no means is my life, and thats where my poems come. I think poetry and music are incredable outlets for energy.
I am the very proud mother of a beautiful baby boy named Owen!
Throughout the past few years I have been forced to grow up a lot. I have moved away from home, lived with relatives, lived on my own, made my parents proud and have screwed up. I have fallen in love, had my heart broken, and let somebody very close to me go. My poetry for me is special, and honest... I do not pretend my life is something it isn't I am merley a person, trying to make it in the world, and hoping for love, passion..and excitment along the way...I hope you enjoy!

Robert Rumery on November 9, 2006I wanted to thank you for your comment on my song.
I am a fan of repeating chorus lines. I don't know why, I guess it's my attempted unique style.. But still thanks for the comment.

Eros Ikhnos on May 9, 2005Hi CandyLand, I was just surfing the site and I came along to your page. I read it and thought it was really nice. Then I read one of your poems and thought it was awesome. I will have to read more and I will make sure to comment too.

asymmetry on April 10, 2005Thank you for the wonderful compliment you left on my story Early Days. I also like Nicholas Sparks and even titled my first poem A Walk to Remember. My favorite book of his is The Notebook. Love your author's page.
