    Busho...

I really want to thank you and Myron and Maatkara all the help you offered me in not only this past Haiku Contest, but previous contests as well. It's a challenging form for sure, but one that intrigues me--The simplistic unique quality of which I find myself falling back to time and again, even for in the way of first drafts for my full-fledged imagery/metaphor/EVERYTHING poems. Outside of haiku-writings, it feels if I can get the image there to be plainly seen, all the poetic bells and whistles then fall in much easier.

I'll never be an expert of any nature to this haiku form of poetry, much less any others, but I did want to personally extend my thanks to you and the others. It's rare that pure and honest critique of one's writing is offered here on AP, and one of the reasons I've grown quite cynical of this site. If ever you feel your unselfish and courteous "advice" for any poem, whether it be haiku or otherwise, be unappreciated, please feel free to send them a copy/paste of this message I'm passing to you and each of your co-judges. I wish there were only more like you.

Thanks again, and catch you at the next contest!!!

    Jo
