been studying seamus heaney at school
a bit like wordsworth (or so i've heard)
and thus have been writing poems ( for school ) similiar to his in some ways- mostly 'Bliss' and 'Neverland'.
'Wrong' and 'Left on 53rd Street' and 'Fate' are more my style of writing.
hope you enjoy, i know i did.
Bliss is, in summary, a story of the human experience of life. It explores the idea of the bliss-like values of ignorance and innocence, and that perhaps we regain elements of them in old age.
Neverland takes a different vein, and tells the story of a teenage boy growing up from the innocent childhood world he so cherished into an ugly adult reality. He tries to revisit the world of his childhood, but he has changed to much, and cannot go back.
And Wrong- well- you can take what you like away from that one.
Left on 53rd tells the story of a boy in a situation in which far too many are in today- poverty in the metropolitan slums of America.
Fate- An interesting poem, one that it's hard to say whether or not I actually believe what I wrote. But it does bring up some important points about human behaviour.
