I'm a 45 yr young man...
sometimes a 45 yr old man.
I've written poems on and off for most of my life.
I write poetry because poems are inside me like tiny seeds that grow until they're ready to sprout. At that time they come to the surface and I bring them out to share with others.
Before I joined Sharepoetry, now Allpoetry, I'd always written rhythm and rhyme poetry because that's the way the little voice I hear inside my head (my inner poet) whispered it. However, after joining he learned to whisper in many styles. He has whispered over one hundred in my ear so far.
Welcome to my Poetry Garden.
My gates are always open.
My poetry garden will grow quickly as I transplant poems that I had already grown and new ones sprout to life all the time. I'm sure you will see a few weeds every now and then. Every garden has them. I leave them so that the poems that are not weeds look that much more beautiful in their presence. While you are here please enjoy my garden.
Please don't be afraid let me know if you see a poem that needs pruning. I'm open to advice that could help make my garden more appealing. Saying an area of the garden needs tending doesn't mean you don't like the garden or even that particular part of the garden. It means that you like gardening also and think every garden should be as beautiful as it can be.
I enjoy visiting other poetry gardens also. I hope no one is ever offended if I'm ever in their garden and offer advice on how they might be able to make their poetry garden more appealing. Anyone who does much gardening knows that gardens often attract bees and bees sometimes sting. However a good gardener is willing to put up with a few bee stings while they are trying to make their garden more appealing.
Remember to gather seeds as you visit other poets poetry gardens. Those seeds could just spring to life and flourish in your own garden. I myself have grown a few different types of poems after doing just that. If you have time take a please take a moment to leave a comment on the poems you read. Even simple comments are appreciated. It's nice to know that your poems are being read.
Growing in my poetry garden I have poem titles for almost every letter of the alphabet. This was not something that I set out to do. I only realized it when I began transplanting my poems at sharepoetry. Now I think the idea is novel. I've asked my inner poet to consider possible poems that would have titles fitting the last missing letters. Can you guess which letters they were?
Feel free to offer suggestions on something you would like to see grow in my poetry garden.
Thanks to mallam23 for giving me the seed which sprouted and grew into ZYGOTE. Thanks mallam for requesting a poem that made me think.
Don't hesitate to ask if you ever need a little help nourishing a poem of your own. I truly enjoy poetry gardening!
Read ya later,
