I have never been a great reader, but always been envious of those who can spend hours with their face and mind in a book, to be able to be taken to another place by anothers words is to me something that has always been something i have hoped i could experience, i think i have read 2 and a half books in my life, a mickey spillane bok( the title evades me but it was a mike hammer novel), Misery by stephen king and half of the hobbit( i am determined to finish that one day), oh and the lion the witch and the wardrobe, but that was so long ago i would have to re-read it to remember it all.
Being part of AP has and continues to be an amazing experience, and once in a while something happens that takes you completely by suprise, today has been one of those moments, Envelope, a member here sent me a link to something he is working on, so as i always do, i visted the link, and it was to what i can only describe as something that i have hoped for, for a long time, a Story that wouldn't let me stop reading until the end, now in all the time i have been on here , i have seen some amazing poetry, and spoken to some amazing people, but in all that time i have never read any of the stories that people write(golden rule No.1: if its over 70 lines run for the hills), but "2 am" just blew me away, its vivid, engrossing, harsh but has a morbidity that you cant help but stay with, it has so much despair and yet its got something about it that wont let you go untill its finished with you, and after you feel like you need a shower, to me this short snippet of the world and characters Coop has begun to breath life into is something that will devour you, spit you out and leave you wanting more, i would suggest anyone reading this, goes over and reads it, it may not be to everyones liking but if you enjoyed "Sin City" the movie (havent read the book(surprise surprise)) you will certainly enjoy this
