Bluesette

I facilitate poetry, drama and creative writing workshops. I travel all around the country doing this at colleges, schools, libraries even bookstore openings or special occasion days. I love to write and act and sing and write and act and sing. I love to Praise God in dance and song and poetry. Shakespeare is a favorite of mine as far as reading and performing go. Hello everyone.

    Play the blues for me.
    Play the blues for me.
    No other music
    'Ll ever ease my misery.

    Sing a soothin' song.
    Said a soothin' song,
"Cause the man I love's done
    Done me wrong.

    Can't you understand,
    O, understand
    A good woman's cryin'
    For a no-good man?

    Black gal like me,
    Black gal like me
"S got to hear a blues
    For her misery.

Misery By Langston Hughes. I sing this and I think it's the bluest song I know. WELCOME TO ALLPOETRY! Have fun!

    Much Love,

Hello and welcome to Allpoetry! So glad you are here, you have joined an awesome group of very friendly and talented poets! To help you navigate the site and take advantage of your options, click on the "Help" tab at the top of your page. If you have problems or questions not covered there, our Moderators are highlighted in blue and Greeters (like myself) in green. Any of us will be more than happy to help you or to direct you to someone who can.

Please take time to check out the benefits of Preferred or Uber memberships. You have been given a 4-day free Preferred Membership trial period. Don't worry, at the end of the 4 days, you will still be able to post your poetry, but the upgraded memberships do greatly help to support the site as well as giving you additional options.

Please try to comment on at least 4 poems for every poem that you post. This encourages others to "return the favor" and to read and comment on your work. It will also help you to get to know and interact with the poets here.

As a new AP member, there is a contest challenge created just for you! Click on the "Contests" tab at the top of the page and look for the "New Members During the Month of December" contest. You can earn up to 300 points and a very much sought after "cyber trophy" for a winning poem!

This site not only offers modern poetry, but also Old Poetry, Story Write and All Philosophy. These can be accessed at the very bottom of the page.

Please do not promote your own poetry in the Chatterbox area. This is not desired or allowed. We do have a "Shameless Promotions" area for this. For 20 points, you can promote your masterpieces there. Also, you may feature one of your own poems in the "Featured" box by going to the bottom of your poem page and placing a point bid. If you click on and read a poem in the Featured box, please be sure to leave a comment, as it cost the author some of their own points to place it there.

Allpoetry continues to grow and prosper and I am both happy and proud to once again welcome you to be a part of it! Please do not hesitate to let me know if I can be of further assistance to you. Happy writing!
