Blue Skies and PainShow poetry

Maybe Today - Carbon Leaf

I am tired because I am old, sleepless, and tried
Mainly because my cross often lays at my side
~ Insearchofsweetness

A goodbye isn't painful unless you're never going to say hello again. ~Unknwown

Where you used to be, there is a hole in the world, which I find myself constantly walking around in the daytime, and falling into at night. I miss you like hell. ~ Edna St. Vincent Millay

.... some days you feel it more than others

~ Nail my heart to Thy feet, ~
that it may never leave...
~ ...nor fail Thee again ~

Make her fair, O dearest Mother,
Make her worthy of the Bridegroom
Clothe her with thy sacred mantle,
Gird her with the blessed cincture.

Wrap they holy veil about her,
Take her by the hand and crown her
For the day of her espousals
With thy diadem of lilies!

Keep her true – Virgo Fidelis,
Keep her poor and meek and humble
Keep her fervent and unselfish
Keep her heart brave and courageous

Be her advocate and Mother
Mold her daily to Thy pattern
Till she reach the blessed ending
Of a life spent all for Jesus

    "Come back !"
    She said

    "My days are so drab."
    "When you are no longer

    Inthis land
    of poems."

    "It's like fall in a season. . .
not meant for fall at all."

"A fall not of trees but of
    empty poems,

    wordless and bare."

    "Because. . .
. . .your poems are not there."

Where have they gone. . .
    . . .it's all so wrong.

"And so she sat there on a rock
with her hand on her chin

    contemplating spring!"

your new background is great... something about that black and white, which is really ironic, since your poems have so much color to them...
