BirdieShow poetry

Hello. It is in my opion that there are three things in life that are worth getting out of bed at 5:00 in the morning for. A steamy cup of hot coco, my labrador's warm greeting as he asks to be let out and a sunrise. Today I saw one where the sky seemed to be in shreds. The colors looked like strips of cloth torn from a bed sheet and tossed carelessly against a matress of dark blue background. All this I enjoy until my family wakes and by then the fabric has been sewn back together in one whole blanket of light blue.

In other news... I've been writing poetry for years but have only recently published it. I am legally blind. That is to say, I'm blind completly in one eye and can only see a portion from the other. I can see the sky quite clearly however so have a good idea of what the sunrise looks like every morning. I'm a senior in high school and hope to go to collage to study to be a teacher. I enjoy music and play pianno. I also sing in the chior at school.

I have been accused of being legally-blind; most of the time, I'm just indifferent...!

Thank you for your short but sweet comment on my poem "Twinkle Twinkle". Is much appreciated.

I took a peek at your profile page and was interested to see that you are visually impaired and looking to become a teacher.

I work as a teacher in a college for the blind in England. Would be great to chat sometime.

    Take care
    Del
