I am from Connecticut working my way towards my degree in journalism and political science. Also working for newspapers and magazines, etc. which I guess is one of the reasons I go long periods without time to write poetry. I write what I feel or what I envision someone else may feel...some of my poetry is very dark but in reality I'm a very optimistic person who believes that God will make it all work out.
"I don't know why we put things off, but if I had to guess, I'd have to say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, sometimes the fear is just of making a decision, because what if you're wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo? We've all heard the proverbs, heard the philosophers warning us about wasted time, heard the damn poets urging us to seize the day. Still sometimes we have to see for ourselves. We have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we can't anymore. Until we finally understand for ourselves ...that knowing is better than wondering, that waking is better than sleeping, and even the biggest failure, even the worst, beats the hell out of never tryin g..." - words by someone else
"And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years." - Abraham Lincoln
"Our greatest battles are that with our own minds." - Jameson Frank
"The individual who knows the score about life sees difficulties as opportunities." - Norman Vincent Peale
"I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move." - Matthew 17:20
"Happiness comes of the capacity to feel deeply, to enjoy simply, to think freely, to risk life, to be needed."
- Storm Jameson
"Better to do something imperfectly than to do nothing flawlessly."
- Robert Schuller
"Don't ask for a light load, but rather ask for a strong back."
- unknown
"No matter how difficult the challenge, when we spread our wings of faith and allow the winds of God's spirit to lift us, no obstacle is too great to overcome."
- Roy Lessin
"Every now and again take a good look at something not made with hands - a mountain, a star, the turn of a stream. There will come to you wisdom and patience and solace and, above all, the assurance that you are not alone in the world." - Sidney Lovett
"The only person whom you really have reason to fear, is yourself." - Langenhoven
