A good friend once told me...

That life was like a mountain, and us the rock climbers. God sitting at the very top of the mountain, waiting for us. Lifes troubles are like a particularly steep part of a mountain. And when you can not find anymore foot holds, or hand holds, call out to God. Who will either reach down and show you the route, or send a fellow climber to help you out. All you have to do is ask. He does not want to see you fall down the mountain.
