"Please let me know everything's alright
Thinking about you, 'though you're out of sight
every night, when I'm turning in, my tears find me.
Please hurry, dear, come back and rescue me..."
Sonata Arctica - Flag In The Ground.

^ Thats me in the picture (Im on the right) with my friend Rhi at a pub in Plymouth. I know I look like a fool but I'm really... reallly... not.
------

Well to cut to the basic stuff, Im a twenty two year old History university student studying in Plymouth, England. I'm originally from Leeds, West Yorkshire in the North of England were I lived for twenty years. I have enjoyed reading and writing ever since my very early teens and some of my influences are Emily Brontes novel 'Wuthering Heights' and George R R Martins fantasy series 'A Song of Ice and Fire'' both of which I read religiously.

Overwise I would say personality wise I'm a bit of a wild card. I'm not overly bright and cheery but Im very easily amused and interested in quite a large area of things about half of the day, and sulky and withdrawn in the second half. I have a mild bipolar disorder which means my mood can be very quicksilver at any given time. I have a very complicated relationship with my past and thus alot of the time I'm overly analytic of it in between fleeing it and being sucked into gloom by it.
As perviously stated I have a very violatile personality and am always looking to do and experience new things as I have abit of a fear when it comes to feeling caged and boxed in. I would say I'm abit of a romantic and I hate how much people throw around the word 'love', for me its something more than just really liking someone and enjoying their company, Its knowing you'd be lost without them and going out the way to honour and defend them, something afew of my ex-girlfriends never really understood *sigh*

I love some of the themes in Fantasy and Sci-Fi, especially the idea of being in something bigger than just the day to day turning of the world. I love escapism and spend large amounts of time in my head doing just that. I also enjoy light amounts of philosophy, I think understanding the movings and forces of the universe is a a key aim for human understanding.

  • xPink-Lotusx : Hello! on July 21
I really like your poetry, so I decided to stop by your page and have a look.
I have something to say however, and please don't take this as a criticism, but more of an educational statement, since you seem to like to learn.
"I however, try and be tolerant of various spiritual beliefs as long as there not forced upon me, and I particularilly like the concept of 'Spiritual peace' in some of the Oriental religions."

    oriental:
    3. (initial capital letter) Zoogeography. belonging to a geographical division comprising southern Asia and the Malay Archipelago as far as and including the Philippines, Borneo, and Java.
    4. Jewelry. a. (usually initial capital letter) designating various gems that are varieties of corundum: Oriental aquamarine; Oriental ruby.
    b. fine or precious; orient: oriental agate; oriental garnet.
    c. designating certain natural saltwater pearls found esp. in the Orient.

I am of Asian descent. I take great pride in that fact. I love the culture and everything about the Eastern cultures that I was somewhat exposed to. Oriental as a general rule, does not apply to all Asians. Mostly it applies to artifacts, gems, works of art, etc. However, only to specific peoples, as stated above.

Other than that, I love the poetry, thank you for sharing it here at AP. Good luck in all that you do, and all that you wish to do.
