True writers never quit, dear one; they just keep writing and learning and editing and writing some more. And, most writers indulge in all the forms of writing, which includes poetry. Doesn't mean you start out, necessarily, as a poet; but, you can grow as a poet by reading the best poets of old and those at this website: learn what makes their poetry great and be willing to take a lot of constructive criticism, because that's how we learn.

Editing, careful editing, is the mark of a great writer; one who is willing to constantly improve and takes advice well. So, rather than leave A/P-- which as you say is that you will continue to read works here but will not be posting anything-- stay, but henceforth be willing to learn from the best.

I recommend that you read A/P poets such as: emvyar, thelordreigns (Joanne, a high school teacher). . . well, in short, go to my A/P page and look at my favorites list: the best are listed there.

And, as a published author and a former publisher's editor, I would be willing to take you under my wing and I feel certain that thelordreigns would, too.

Keep writing, IF you really love to write.

    Much love in Christ, BonnieQ
