BE ADVISED~
The one known as BearWoman has found part of what she is looking for creatively in this place. A realm of mutually respectful, mutually supportive artists who appreciate and encourage each other's efforts while respecting individual differences.
I have apparently created a reputation for myself here as a reviewer. While I very much enjoy engaging in interaction with other creative sorts in this way, my capacity and availablity in this regard is very inconsistent at this time.
I also need and desire reviews in all levels of depth from others. I will try to keep the pieces on which I most want feedback pinned to this page. I can't do it all by myself! (Note: Sometimes it will take awhile before I can get my mind around feedback I have received. It is all appreciated, noted, and I do actually intend to get to serious consideration of it when capacity and other timing allows.) I prefer critical comments be posted to the relevant poem page, so I won't lose them out the back end of the AP mail system.

If you want to get automated system notifications when I post new poetry, contests, and such, feel free to add me as a Favorite. If you like erotica, consider checking out my stories on StoryWrite.

BE ADVISED~
I often come across as highly intelligent, competent, and upbeat. However, please expect irregularity and inconsistency from me. As well, you are seeing me out of proportion to my ordinary reality and through the filter of the ‘net. I live with catastrophic, chronic, long-term disability that varies in ways which can substantially affect my capacities (cognitive more so than emotional, yet some of that as well).
Part of how I am allowing my Muse to guide me at this time is by tuning in more keenly to the ebb and flow of my internal processes. Because of that, even I cannot predict when and how shifts in my needs and behaviors are likely to occur. When this happens, please be aware that it is much more likely to be about me and my own process, rather than about how I feel about you.
Namaste’

"No decent human being would allow an animal to suffer without putting it out of its misery. It is only to human beings that human beings are so cruel as to allow them to live on in pain, in hopelessness, in living death, without moving a muscle to help them. It is against such attitudes that this book fights."

Someone posted this elsewhere, and it resonated with me:
"go to the pine if you want to learn about the pine, or to the bamboo if you want to learn about the bamboo. in doing so you must leave your subjective preoccupation with yourself behind. otherwise you will impose yourself on the object and will not actually learn about the pine or the bamboo. in the same way your poetry emerges from you of its own accord when you and the object have become one, when you have plunged deep enough into something to see a hidden glimmer there. however well-phrased your poetry may be if your feeling is not natural - if the object and you as a poet are separate - then your poetry is not true poetry. it is you and not pine or bamboo."

2009 September 21 update:
Why all these updates? I'm not up to culling them all right now. I'm on more of an even keel and expect to be spending more time on AllPoetry and writing again soon. Thank you everyone for continuing to comment while I was gone. Sorry some of the comments were to old for me to star-rate them. I hope you can live without the points!
2009 August 21 update:
I'm not doing well right now and expect this to last indefintely. Expect my available and capacity to be inconsistent.
2009 June 27 update:
EXPECT FROM ME at this time: Inconsistency, irregularity, many times of inability to comprehend well. For things to slip through what appear to be increasingly widening cracks. Creativity. Inability to self review my writing (or to be able to do a decent job of reviewing yours). Perhaps occassional flashes of brilliance. The desire to continue to express creatively through words (mainly through writing, and sometimes through interactions).
Apparently sudden losses of energy and focus when I need to end interactions abruptly.
Caring, compassion, and respect, although I may not be as able as I have been in the past at being sure these attributes convey.
NOTE: I plan to post personal journal entries about what is going on for me. Due to the nature of these posts, I expect to limit access to those particular writings to "friends only." That means we must be on each other's Favorites lists. If we aren't and you want us to be, please let me know.
