Not alot interesting to say about me. I'm 32 years old and I'm from Shreveport, La. I started writing poetry a few years back. Originally, I wanted to be a songwriter (I'm an amateur musician), but that didn't work out too well. Whenever I tried to write songs, trying to find melody and rhythm would get in the way of what I was trying to achieve, if that makes sense. I figured out that it is the imagery and power of words that I really love, so I started writing poetry.
I do not necessarily think of myself as a good poet, I just write because I like creating something that didn't exist before. If someone likes my poetry, wonderful, if they don't like it, that's ok too. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, though.

Oh that I could walk the strait and narrow
And be the one God wishes me to be. -
A harsh, hot breeze carries the smell of night.
And my eyes close while I smile awaiting -
Night, that ancient, dark temptress
Calls siren-like from her blurred shore
