I am a 65 year old Irishman, living in England, now retired. I have a degree in English/Religious Studies, which I obtained in 1989 as a mature student. I have always loved words and am an avid reader, especially of poetry. I have a strong interest in history, Irish history in particular, and among my other interests are theatre, films and playing snooker.
My poetry "style" is pretty eclectic, I will try almost anything, but I favour strong lyrical poems.I write both rhyming poems and free verse ( sometimes I fuse the two).
I like contemporary poetry, but I also have a healthy respect for the classics.

malmadre on February 16I just referred a young lady to read some of your writings as I feel you are a very philosophical person whom we can learn from, you present new questions instead of just accepting the easy answers. You write some very good stuff too!
