Am a thing of strange existance, if of any. I do little but loiter and love (and alliterate). I enjoy pretending to be a writer but, in truth, am just a strange child suffering from too much to not say...

J'adore... Paris; Oscar Wilde; black and white photographs; getting letters and postcards; writing; reading; pouncing and hugging those I haven't seen in ages; pouncing and hugging people I saw just five minutes ago; that my thumb feels naked, because he has my ring; beautiful poetry; ugly poetry written in a beautiful manner; high heels; evening gloves; pianos; red ribbon; Tori Amos; coffee shops; hiding in hay stacks; the smell of hay and leather; the smell of cut grass; candles; the smell of coffee; kohl eyeliner; Gin and tonics; beautiful hands; summer storms; cats; horses; the antdancing on my desk; John Irving; Orion's Belt- especially the one on my arm (in freckles); corsets; (spoiling) my friends; parties; the pattern ice makes in white wine; being infatuated...

Je deteste... Writers' Block; poor poetry; my own paranoia; craving cigarettes; conforming to cliches; leaving people; traffic jams; violently bright lights; not being able to articulate how I feel; missing people; my incessant procrastination; dancing in public when sober; blisters from shoes; my perpetual urge for a lip piercing...

Je suis...prone to barefooted prancing and sneaking piggy-backs home; tempermental; shallow and superficial, yet pensive and brooding; obessive; whimsical; a closet romantic (although the doors are slowly opening); ferociously loyal; precocious; vain; a realist and a dreamer; passionate; a pseudo-poet...

Je veux... love, of the right people; less cruelty, especially on my part; to walk on snow without leaving footprints; to figure what I want to do to be able to eat and pay rent; my own library; to compete and train in dressage; to live in Paris, Stratford-upon-Avon and New York; truth, without the pain; independence, without the responsibility; eternal happiness, especially for those I love; to write and be published; the assurance that, whatever my paranoia, they do love me...

"What is a poet? An unhappy person who conceals profound anguish in his heart but whose lips are so formed that as sighs and cries pass over them they sound like beautiful music." - Kierkegaard

"The only difference between a poet and madness is a thin sheet of paper."

"Those who dance are considered insane by those who cannot hear the music." - Friedrich Nietzsche

"Every great man nowadays has his disciple, and it is always Judas who writes the biography." - Oscar Wilde

Hi, my Diamond girl. This is an invitation to join a new group I’ve started at AP. I’ve named the group “Kindred Souls”, and it will be an “invitation-only” group of folks I’ve come to admire and respect on AP. I’ve never sponsored a group before, so I’m a little fuzzy about all the “ins and outs”, but I’m hoping this will prove to be a positive way for many of us to connect.

During the recent AP gremlins attack, I had the horrid thought that AP might disappear…and with it all the wonderful folks I’ve come to know and love here. I decided that the first thing I was going to do when I got back on AP was connect with each of my AP friends and heroes, and make sure I had other ways to make contact…just in case. The idea for this group grew from that original idea.
So, if you’d like to RSVP and join this group, please follow this link : allpoetry.com/Application/875428 and fill out the “application form”. I don’t know of a way around this part of the process, so I will just send an acceptance as soon as I get your RSVP (AKA: “application”). I hope you will decide to join me, and the other wonderful folks I’m inviting to this little group. If you’ve any ideas on how to make it fun or work better, please let me know.

    Thanks,
    Deb Thomas (AKA: MuseStalker)
