Thanks for having a look at my stuff, I appreciate it.
Why do I write: here's a quote...
*You don't write because you want to say something;*
*You write because you've got something to say.*
(F. Scott Fitzgerald)
that about sums it up.. here are some more...
Calvin and Hobbes:
C: You know, sometimes the world seems like a pretty mean place.
H: That's why animals are so soft and huggy.
----------------------------------------------------
Montaigne
To philosophise is to doubt.
----------------------------------------------------
Beckett; Play
Are you listening to me? Is anyone listening to me? Is anyone looking at me? Is anyone bothering about me at all?
--------------------------------------------------
Once there was a cat who fell asleep in the sun and dreamed she was a woman sleeping in the sun. When she woke up she couldn't remember if she was a cat or a woman.

Jeanette Winterson: The Powerbook:
You can change the story.
You are the story.
All Accidents Create New Worlds
---------------
Stanislavski:
Love the art in yourself, not yourself in the art.

Also...Below is a poem Audrey Hepburn wrote when asked to share her "beauty
tips."
It was read at her funeral years later.
For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a
day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived,
reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the
end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for
helping yourself, and the other for helping others.
Cheers Jo for finding it for me!

We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.
What we call the beginning is often the end
And to make and end is to make a beginning
The end is where we start from.
Because I know that time is always time
And place is always and only place
And what is actual is actual only for one time
And only for one place
I rejoice that things are as they are and
I renounce the blessèd face
And renounce the voice
Because I cannot hope to turn again
Consequently I rejoice, having to construct something
Upon which to rejoice
(TS Eliot.. excerpts from Ash Wednesday and the Four Quartets)
----------------------------------
Thy beams so reverend and strong
Why shouldst thou think?
I could eclipse and cloud them with a wink,
But that I would not lose her sight so long.
..........
She's all states, and all princes I;
Nothing else is;
Princes do but play us; compared to this,
All honour's mimic, all wealth alchemy.
Thou Sun, art half as happy as we
(two excerpts from The Sun Rising by John Donne)

something brought me back tonight
to words i have written. -
Does love have a sound?
Is it the laughter, soft and sweet, of a girl -
Wet pillow again at 5am - lying sobbing silently
I notice how unusually still I seem to be.
