Arien SilverleafShow poetry

In a world of twisting fancy that masquerades as material, I remain a creature of paradox. I live in Vague Lucidity, drifting along the tides of my imagination through the roiling ocean of life, and I've learnt to scorn the use of rafts. Wherever I go, there I will end up, and life will continue on. I flow, because in doing so I learn that we can control the waters of the ocean and direct ourselves in directions that we want to go. The location we may end up in remains a mystery, but at least we are choosing the path.

I call myself Arien, though that is not my name to those who know me personally. It is the name of my soul, and that is what I show to you on this island in the ocean. You see me bare parts of myself to you, where I daren't reveal it elsewhere. Poetry is the language of my soul, rough hewn at times, smooth as silk at others.

I could bore you with the details of my personal life, but I think you'll come to learn a lot more about who I am by reading what I write. I dance among the stars when my fingers fly across the keyboard, when I grip the pen and watch the blotches of ink stain the parchment, revealing truths that the muses whisper in my ear. The heavens are my playground when I close my eyes, and I feel like I can dance in the silver shadows therein.

Life in the mortal world is more difficult than life amongst the stars and moon, but we cannot remain there all the time. We must learn to exist simultaneously in both realms, and only then will we truly be complete.

All Eyes On Me
~
The Goo Goo Dolls

Daylight burns your sleepy eyes
It's hard to see you dreaming
You hide inside yourself
I wondered what you're thinkin'
And everything you're chasing
It seems to leave you empty
And it won't take long to burn
All eyes on me
Through the nothing that you've learned
All eyes on me
And the things you choose to be
All eyes on me

But your eyes look away
It's so hard to be someone
Strung out from today
And all that you knew slips away

You drown in deeper oceans
Inventing new religions
They smile and stab my back and
I lie and have to laugh

And it won't take long to burn
All eyes on me
Through the nothing that you've learned
All eyes on me
And the things you choose to be
All eyes on me

But your eyes look away
It's so hard to be someone
Strung out from today
And all that you knew slips away

And you hid in your room
And the light burns away
And you move from the truth
It's all so far from you....

Enter the gateway and look into the mirror
fear not the doppelganger you may find
looking back at you
