AntipodiShow poetry

I was a child of the fifties and grew up immersed in music. My mother played piano from before I was born and I learned to accommodate the keyboards.
When I was a teenager in the sixties I experimented with playing in bands and writing lyrics at this time I also hitchhiked around Australia which helped to enhance my knowledge of this beautiful country. I have been writing poetry from a very early age and have always found it easier to express my self in verse. I believe all poetry and prose has individual merit for being creative. I love all sorts of poetry and wish that some day I will be discovered and hit the big time (o well I can dream)..
I also did Website reviews for a site called " Poetic Dreamscapes "..
I am a moderator on a site called Poetry Junction you can visit me on http://poetryjunction.proboards.com/index.cgi? I have had a poem "Phantom of the Web" published in hardcopy in a book called "In our own Words.. a generation defining itself... which now on sale at Amazon.com
I also won a competition with a poem called "Slowdance in the Ballroom of Loneliness". I actually won some money and had my poem and another published in a book called "Australia's Best Poetry" by Kiss Publications. I was lucky enough to read my poem on a local FM radio station..it was lots of fun.
I am married to a lovely Lady named Robyn and the proud father of an 18 y.o. son named James.. he to is starting to become quite a storyteller and he has already published some of his stories/poems on the web.

Sympathy

Now when you climb
into your bed tonight
And when you lock...
and bolt the door
Just think of those
out in the cold and dark
'cause there's not enough love to go round

[chorus:]
And sympathy
is what we need my friend
And sympathy
is what we need
And sympathy
is what we need my friend
'cause there's not enough love to go round

Now half the world
hates the other half
And half the world
has all the food
And half the world
Lies down
and quietly starves
...
'cause there's not enough love to go round

repeat chorus

NB THIS WAS NOT WRITTEN BY ME (ANTIPODI) >>> IT WAS WRITTEN BY A GROUP CALLED "RAREBIRD" A GROUP SIMILAR TO PINK FLOYD IN THE SIXTIES AND I HAVE ALWAYS REMEMBERED THE WORDS AS THEY TOUCHED MY HEART AND SOUL WITH ITS ACCOMPANYING HAUNTING MELODY>>> THIS IS A CLASSIC ROCK SONG

I love your page. I actually went to amazon.com to listen to sympathy by rare birds to see how amazing those words would sound...it was worth the effort. Thank you for that!
