Hello All!

I've decided to remain for my friends, favorites, and fans as well as my belief that when Kevin stops screwing around, this will again be the most functional writing site available.  I do not know all the site changes well, so until I do; please direct your questions to the Greeters or Moderator staff found at the 'Help' link at the bottom of the site pages.

Thanks,

Andy

From my studies of psychology, religions, and personal experience these conclusions I have reached.

I've found that in my life the practice of this proves true

Truism

Thoughts dictate attitude. It is important to master one's thoughts.

Don't waste time worrying about mistakes. File them for reference and do better.

Truism is a philosopy, not a religion. There is no right religion. All religions attempt to understand, communicate with, and contain God. It is wiser to listen to God. Many religious leaders try to manipulate followers with fear and superstition for personal gain or power and the others seem caught in their own madness.

A Truist seeks truth and values honesty.

A Truist recognizes what is true and provable.

A Truist chooses to do good because it is the better way

A Truist tries to be nice to others because it is a more beneficial course.

Truists question all things, but mostly themselves.

Truists realize that in order to be most effective, they must love
themselves and consider themselves first.

A Truist seeks the truth about God, humanity, and all things.

A Truist's goal is to grow and expand.

People are not inherently evil. People have the ability to choose. The vast majority of humankind chooses to strive for good.

Attitude is the major determining factor of life experience. The better one's attitude, the better one's responses to each situation.

A Truist's goals:

To do better each day.
To try to be open and aware of the many possibilities and make intelligent choices.
To enjoy life and encourage others to do the same.
To be truthful in order to better perceive truth; with eyes which love truth.
To respect others and attempt to be nice to them.
To constantly improve and expand.
To make the most of each moment.

From PrincessOfFire's profile with permission:

I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, No.

It is not for me to take away,
but for you to give it up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.

God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience.

God said, No. Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.

I asked God to give me happiness..

God said, No.
I give you blessings;
Happiness is up to you.

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from
worldly cares
and brings you closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow.

God said, No.
You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful.

I asked God for all things
that I might enjoy life.

God said, No.
I will give you life,
so that you may enjoy all things.

I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.

God said... Ahhhh,
finally you have the idea.

If you wish, post on your page!

I wrote my first poem in the second grade when forced by the teacher. I told a young woman in high school that I wrote poetry to impress her, so I started writing some to impress her. Had my first poem published in 1970.

Also in 1970 I wrote my first song. In 1975 I had no television, no friends, lived in a town I didn't know, and the music on the radio was not good. I started writing many songs to entertain myself. In 1979, I stopped writing poetry. I wrote strictly songs and essays. I like the genres of songwriting more than poetry by itself. Since I have joined AP in January, I have written some contest poems.

If you find any song interesting, if I have it recorded, email me with it's title and I'll reply with an mp3 of the song attached.

I prefer to co-write rather than writing alone. If you would like to collaborate, I will make a recording of the finished song. Rights and authorship equally divided.

Angel Crestfallen
by Andy Stephenson
for Jackie, my Storywrite Wife

An angel rare, an angel fair
Has tumbled down to Earth
So full of love, life from above
She demonstrates her worth

Of timeless things and sacred dreams
She reaches out to heal
Against the Odds, embraced by Gods
With honesty that's real

I couldn't see, she came to me
To open up my eyes
Confusion swirled, all through my world
She lead me past the lies

No blood was shed, now spirit lead
I travel on with her
No holding back, safe from attack
Or whatever may occur

No future planned, with her I'll stand
My Guardian Angel she
Tomorrows come and I won't run
She's my security
