Amber SilverhairShow poetry

Being a moonchild and now free to be me.  I am busy being me.  I am involved in volunteer work, playing golf and exploring my creative talents.  Where will it take me?  Who knows.  But, I don't intend to "clean out my cupboards so that when I drop off the twig....."  nor am I "waiting for life to begin at ......"  I intend to get in there grab life by the throat and give it a bloody good shake.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'"

"When finally Death comes calling, as well he must,
He will just have to wait while I clean and dust!!"

My heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a watered shoot;
My heart is like an apple tree
Whose boughs are bent with thickset fruit;
My heart is like a rainbow shell
That paddles in a halcyon sea;
My heart is gladder than all these
Because my love is come to me

Raise me a dais of silk and down
Hang it with vair and purple dies;
Carve it in doves, and pomegranates,
And peacocks with a hundred eyes;
Work it in gold and silver grapes,
In leaves, an silver fleurs-de-lys;
Because the birthday of my life
Is come, my love is come to me.

A Birthday
by
Christina Rossetti

There was a young lady of Kent
Who said she knew what it meant
When men asked her to dine,
Gave her cocktails and wine,
She knew, oh she knew but she went.

    Hi...haven't seen you around for a while and wanted to drop by and see how you are. I'm guessing the writer's block is still in effect? Anyway...just wanted to let you know that you've been missed. I hope everything is okay with you.
