I love poetry. All types of poetry. My favorite is formed poetry, though. Sestinas and villanelles really strike my fancy. I don't say no to the words and phrases that come in and decide to sing for me, though... I can always find a place for them.
Writing poetry has gotten me through some very tough times in my life. Sometimes they say what I can't tell a person face to face. Sometimes they say what I can't say to myself. The poetry is the guide... I'm just along for the ride.
