"Theirs not to reason why, theirs but to do and die."-Tennyson, "The Charge of The Light Brigade"
That is perhaps my favorite poetry line of all time. (thanks cubert and Kei-Aira for telling me who it was and the poem).
When I'm not working, sleeping, eating, practicing my martial arts (Kuk Sool Won), watching t.v., reading,...I'm writing. Actually, aside from martial arts (which I'm training to be an instructor in), writing is my favorite way of releasing my frustrations, feelings, emotions, or whatever you want to call it. All in all it is a great stress reliever (a 24yr. old guy, like myself, shouldn't have stress, but I do. Sigh.)
When I left home for a couple of years I left a lot of my books and writings with my parents because I just didn't have the room. Can you guess what happened to my stuff? That's right. Mice decided to take up residence. So naturally, I evicted them. Unfortunately, everything I had written was ruined. I was not happy. So now I'm forced to start over.
Eventually, I would like to go back to school and get my teaching degree. I was always good at english so I decided that I wanted to teach it to people. I'm leaning more towards english literature for high shcool or college. Oh well. We'll see how it goes.
I don't really have any style in my writing (or my clothes). My writing is heavily influenced by my moods. So, if i'm depressed it's depressing, sad it's sad, a joking mood it's (hopefully) funny, and if I'm bored (which is a lot) it's just a surprise.
I don't write as much as I used to, but when I do some of them manage to avoid the trash can. I hope you like what you read. I encourage you to be honest with your comments on my works. However, if you don't like what I write, then use tact. With that enjoy.
TO ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED: SORRY, I HAVEN'T BEEN ON IN A WHILE, BUT I'VE BEEN A LITTLE BUSY. I JOINED THE ARMY! I'M A COMBAT MEDIC. THAT MEANS THAT I'LL BE ON THE FRONT LINES HELPING TO SAVE LIVES. I HOPE TO DO WELL IN MY NEW ENDEAVOR. ANYONE WHO MIGHT WANT TO GET A HOLD OF ME CAN JUST SEND A MESSAGE OR COMMENT. I'LL BE ON AS OFTEN AS I CAN.
This is a one of the cadences we have. It's also one of my favorites.
Don't you cry me no tears.
I don't want your sympathy.
Don't you cry me no tears.
I don't want your sympathy.
I'm a combat medic,
And that's all I'll ever be.
I'm a combat medic,
That's all I'll ever know.
Somewhere there's a mother
Who's crying for her boy.
Somewhere there's a mother
Who's crying for her boy.
He's a combat medic,
And that's all he'll ever be.
So, don't you cry him no tears.
He don't want your sympathy.
Somewhere there's a father
Who's crying for his girl.
Somewhere there's a father
Who's crying for his girl.
She's a combat medic.
And that's all she'll ever be.
So, don't you cry her no tears.
She don't want your sympathy.
I'm a combat medic,
And that's all I'll ever be.
I'm a combat medic,
That's all I'll ever know.
