Hi I'm Rachel, a 21 year old currently unemployed English graduate. My ambition in life is to be an Archivist and I spend most of the week doing voluntary work in an Archive to get further towards the chance of being able to do the post-graduate course.
My life is rather mundane and tedious really but to give a vague idea about me I suppose I'll list some things I'm into:
The theatre, good food, chocolate, a cup of tea in my pyjamas (thats drinking it while in pyjamas not pouring it down them), hugs, fresh air and sunshine, nature (I know that sounds soppy, I don't mean in a tree hugging way I mean the way Wordsworth would perceive it), corsets and antique style costumes, pre-raphaelite art and romantic poetry, gothic decoration and architecture, Roses, deep coloured velvet, black lace, A good emotional film (not chick flicks or rom coms, my favourite film is actually A Beautiful Mind), Joanne Harris novels, Learning about history, baking cakes, Things written by Terry Pratchett, Musicals and Gilbert and Sullivan operettas, Arcade Fire (thats a band) and Biffy Clyro (another band), Irish folk music, medieval poetry (Chaucer is a god), Satirical comedy quiz shows, Bill Bailey (a comedian), Greek mythology, Dressing up fancy and going out for dinner.
My favourite poet is John Keats, my favourite poem is 'Ode to a Nightingale' but I like many different poetry styles. Admittedly I tend to stick before the twentieth century but from there backwards I can go back as far as the sixth century (in translation) and find it interesting.
My own poetry is just for fun. I make no pretensions to great ability I simply like to be creative. In general I spend more time on prose and that with no real intention of getting published, its all just a hobby.
I'd like to thank everybody who says lovely things to me on this website, because we all need a lift every now and then and compliments from a stranger are a surprisingly good lift you know.

The eery murmurs scream at night
and fly on zephyrs hid from sight -
The world is dulled like an old age on the turn
as the Silicone and Paper age proceeded from the past9 lines, November 17 -
The flowers hang with weariness
across the stones of yesterday, -
Pass down the line, that which we hold
to be worthy of the rude limbo

Random article I wrote for no other reason than the thoughts were going through my head. It's not the best written argument in the world and not really intended to be, its simply expressing some opinions and views..... 1 2 I’m not a feminist. I don’t like to narrow my views down by giving it a name and i

The Demon in the Cupboard: the creation of 'Food guilt' in a dieting society. 1 Is it particularly surprising in current society that so many women are utterly confused about their body image. I frequently wonder about this issue while watching endless rounds of cereal adverts on the television which promise to m

CoundessaScarlotti on August 27I do apologize for not being able to get back to you sooner on the Inspiration by a Master; but I lost the internet. Anyway, the poem you gave me to use was wonderfully done. The word choice was very colorful and the phrases were vivid. It even had a special flow rather than running thoughts. I appreciate your taste.

Thank you again

I was just reading your profile, and was delighted to read that you like many of the same things I do. . .
Tea in pajamas and pre-raphaelite art and romantic poetry and roses, to name a few. . .
Hope you're doing well, and hope you have a good time with those contests you're doing. . .

bloodletting on April 30Hello there dear, Aedara. Peculiar username.
Thank you kindly for your review on "renegade"
I read your profile.. and though you may think that your interests in life might be percieved as mundaine, I find them to be quite tranquil and refreshing to hear of someone who takes heart things that have atmosphere and spirit. Wish I was at a point in life that I could persue such things. Yours is a setting in a country where you can have ready access to almost anything.
Enjoy and take full advantage of your blessing... not many have that opportunity.
