This page is to be used for AllPoetry classes. Any columns, essays or other posts that are relevant to an AP class or classes may be posted to this page at the request of an active site teacher.

This page will be used to host all AP School contests.
All members of AP are encouraged to leave ideas for AP classes and contests in the testimonial section of this page.

Please do not seek teacher status, report bugs in the system or problems on this page. These things should be IMed directly to Epistomolus (AllPoetry Dean).

The AP Classes:

Allpoetry Classes are peer to peer study groups led by a site teacher who has demonstrated skill in a specific area of written expression.

Classes are not intended to be a formal learning experience but a casual, encouraging study of various skills. Most of the teachers are not professionals. They are volunteer members of the site that are sharing their time and talent to help other members understand and expand into different areas of poetry and written language.

Classes range in difficulty. Some classes are elementary and require little to no experience. Others are much more advanced and require prior knowledge of specific skills before the concepts can be fully grasped.

Students can expect skill-building lessons and assignments, one-to-one teacher feedback, prompt grades (within 10 days of submission unless a vacation message is posted or the class is hidden). Students can also expect helpful feedback and encouragement.

In turn, teachers expect students to put forth real effort, ask questions when they arise, ask for help when needed and decent, respectful behavior.

Any AllPoetry member may enter and participate in a class at any time. There is no time limitation, classes are “go at your own pace” (excluding the teacher training class). On completion of each class a blue trophy is awarded on a participant’s author page following contest awarded trophies.

Teacher Responsibilities:

1. To create skill-building lessons and assignments.

2. To grade assignments and give helpful feedback within 10 days (unless a vacation message is posted or the class is hidden).

3. To and answer questions about their class from students and potential students (this does not include AP forums)

4. To be open to improvements and suggestions

5. To keep their class active and maintained as often as possible

6. To report abusive members or students promptly

Student Responsibilities:

1. Give each class taken sincere effort

2. Be open to critical feedback on all assignments

3. Ask questions as they arise

4. Report abusive behavior, failure to grade or other things that aggravate or hinder completion of the class

5. To follow the rules set forth by AllPoetry and the individual rules of the teacher in charge of a class.

6. To be respectful and polite on all levels of communication within the class; IM’s to the teacher and other students, on the class board and in assignments

Hi. This is very interesting and helpful information.

    I think there's a typo here:

    3. To and answer questions about their class from students and potential students (this does not include AP forums)

    Thanks,
    Myron.
