-Ink Artist-Show poetry

True poets don't write
their thoughts with a pen...
they release the ink that flows
from within their heart.

I’ve started my first two AllPoetry groups,  The Inkwell and The Paragon

The Inkwell is an interactive workshop group for serious poets who are interested in growing as writers.  This group provides all members with positive feedback, constructive critiquing and criticism, and support  while learning and experimenting with new forms, styles, and techniques.  If you’re interested in joining us, please stop by and submit an application!

http://allpoetry.com/group/info/The%20Inkwell?stay=1

The Paragon is a private group of AllPoetry's finest and most accomplished poets.  The writers in this group have achieved recognition of their poetic abilities with the gain of more than 50+ trophies for their work.  They are some of the very best this site has to offer.  Their creative brilliance shines within their words.  If you are one such poet, please join us!

ABOUT ME:

I’m a very laid-back and open-minded person.  I don’t judge people and I don’t like to be judged.  I say what I mean and I write what I feel.   I have a big heart and a big mouth!  I’m a re-born optimist.  I’ve spent too many years drowning in negativity.  Now, I focus completely on the positive aspects of everything.

I’m the mother of eight, four boys:  Eric - 19, Donald - 19, Ryan - 16, and Sean - 15 and four girls:  Jessica - 22, Leah - 17, Alysyn - 11, and Haylee - (almost) 2.  I’m the grandmother of three wonderful little ones, granddaughters:  Sydnii - 5 & Wytnii - 1 and  newborn grandson:  Layne.

I have a wonderful man in my life, who I adore with all my heart.   He is my best friend and my support system.   He is my courage, my strength, my power.  He is my fate and my destiny.   He is my sun, my moon, my stars, my sky, my rain, my air.  He is the mountains that I’ve climbed and the waves that wash over my soul.  He is what I’ve waited my lifetime to have...I love you Babe!

***

"Good writing is supposed to evoke sensation in the reader—not the fact that it is raining,

but the feeling of being rained upon."
E.L. Doctorow

ABOUT MY POETRY:

I’ve been writing since forever.  I love language and the many ways it can used to evoke feelings and provoke thoughts.  I write about what I’ve felt, what I’ve lived, what I desire, what I can never forget.  I pour myself into my work.  When you read me, you are reading my heart and soul.  Words are my passion, my innermost expression.

I always welcome honest feedback and critical review to my work.  If not for the advice and insight of others, how can we possibly grow as writers?  I may not agree with all criticisms but that doesn’t mean I don’t absorb it.  I want to expand my ability as a poet.  Writing is a continuous learning experience.  It is my therapy, my solace, my saving grace.  I write, simply,  because I must.

I am a published poet in several worldwide anthologies, but I aspire to compile a book of my own poetry someday.  It is what dreams are made of for me!  My goal is to have this book published before I turn 50, so I still have a decade to accomplish the task!  I write in several styles.  I am a rhyming poet at heart, but I truly enjoy working with free verse.  I’m just beginning to broaden my work to include form poetry.  I have high regard for those who can write in form well.  It is a great feat.  I am constantly experimenting, spreading my wings and trying new things.

Modest and shy
Meticulous and reliable
Practical and diligent
Intelligent and analytical

On the dark side....

Fussy and a worrier
Overcritical and harsh

Perfectionist and conservative

........Yes, e'en would analyze a sneeze?
........Who hugs and loves her own disease?

..........And fill men's breasts with honesty and arts;
..........No tricks for gain, nor love of wealth dispense,
..........But piercing thoughts and winning eloquence.
